How the Bird fit the Crown

After a week of hustling and bustling about to start the school year off on the right page, Raven just wanted to relax with Dexter. Raven remembered he wanted to talk, but she was nervous about the topic. Dexter on the other hand was nervous for another reason, Daring got into his head and he had to talk to Raven about it. Here is how it went on the night before Dexter and Daring went to the party:
Dexter was sitting on his bed trying to fix his tie as Daring added on a few cans of hairspray in one of his many mirrors. Daring chuckled and threw the now empty can out.
"This weekend I need Raven out of the dorm little bro." Dexter stopped what he was doing and looked up at Daring.
"Why?" Dexter asked puzzled at his brother's question.
"You know, me and Rose have our 'night time fun' and it's perfect since Raven is her roommate and your girlfriend so really it's a win win situation. Just don't let her mess with my stuff." Dexter was in shock, he had no idea his brother did...that with Rosabella.
"Wait... You mean you-"
"About every other week, yes." Daring said as if it was no big deal.
"And I was thinking that when you do 'that' as you put it, with Raven, I can just spend the night with Rose." Dexter blushed at the thought of him taking it to the next level with Raven.
"Um Daring... Me and Raven don't do that." Daring stopped spraying his hair and sat in the chair next to Dexter's bed.
"Bro, are you telling me you are still a vir-" Dexter shushed him.
"Well, you might want to soon, assuming you even want to... Do you?" Daring asked looking at Dexter questioningly.
"Of course but, I'm waiting for the right moment." Daring laughed as he shook his head.
"Bro, if you wait too long, she will get bored. If she gets bored, she will dump you like last week's mirror." Dexter knew Raven wouldn't do that... Would she?
"Raven is not like that." Dexter stood up finally finishing his tie. Daring shrugged.
"Suit yourself. Just remember, if you wait too long..." Daring finished while throwing a mirror from last week into his trash can. Dexter sighed.
******************************************** *****************************   Rave walked up to Dexter's room, Rose wanted the room to herself tonight. Rose explained why, but Raven didn't really want to hear the rest so she agreed and left quickly. She knocked at the door.
"Come in." Dexter called from inside. Raven opened and closed the door as she walked in. She noticed as she passed Daring's side of the door that he was gone. Dexter laid on his bed reading a book. He put the book down and patted the spot next to him on his bed. Raven smiled and cuddled up next to him laying her head on his chest and Dexter wrapped an arm around her.
"I wanted to talk to you about something." Dexter nervously asked. Raven could hear his heart going a mile  a minute.
"Okay..." She softly replied as she reached across and held his hand. He squeezed her palm softly.
"Do you want... More?" He asked turning to look in her violet eyes.
"More of what?" She asked. She had a hunch, but she didn't want to just infer like that.
"You know... The next step in the relationship?" He twirled her hair with the hand that was wrapped around her. Raven blushed.
"Oh. So, do you want more?" Her heart was racing too.
"I mean- if I'm being honest..." He looked at Raven.
"Yes, but I have no problem waiting if you don't want to." Raven looked down at her chest for a moment.
"I've thought about it, but why are you bringing this up now?"
"I just... Don't want you to get bored of me." Dexter looked sad as he said those words. Raven gave him a featherlight kiss.
"Sweetie, I could never get bored of you." Dexter perked up and pulled Raven closer.
"So..."
"So..."
There was an awkward silence between the two. Neither of them knew what to say next.
"How about this, when the time feels natural... Be prepared." She said blushing. Dexter smiled.
"O-Okay." He sputtered out. Raven giggled and snuggle closer.
"Do you just want to spend the night here? Nothing has to happen of course." He nervously chuckled.
"Sure. Let me text Maddie to let her know." That night they did do something for the first time together, they slept in the same bed that night. Nothing further than that happened, but they were okay with that.
************************************************************************** Raven walked down the Girl's dorm to get to her room. She had an enchanting nights sleep with Dexter. She loved being his little spoon to cuddle. She grabbed her keys from her purse and unlocked her door. She walked in but first covered her eyes.
"I'm back. Daring, if you're naked, get dressed now." She heard Daring fumble out of her bed and grab his clothes. He went into her changing space and closed the curtain. Rose walked up in her bathrobe and messy hair.
"Sorry about that... How was your night with Dexter" she asked while rubbing her eyes.
"We talked... And nothing happened. We are waiting until the time is right." She told him forgetting that Daring was here. He stepped out fully dressed and fixing his crown.
"Well I better go back, love you." He kissed the side of Rose's head and walked out. Rose leaned against her bedpost.
"If you have a problem with this, I can just-" Rose asked put Raven put her hand on her shoulder.
"Trust me, it's fine." She smiled to reassure her. Rose gave her a hug and Raven hugged back.
"I better get changed, Daring is taking me to lunch today." Raven checked her time. 10:30. Raven sat on Rose's bed.
"Hey Rose, do you have any...tips?" She felt awkward for asking but clearly Rose has had experience in this area. Rose poked her head up from the curtain and smiled.
"Just be patient and have fun! Boys are so nervous for their first time, they want to make it perfect for you. I remember when it was me and Daring's first time and-"
"Um thanks that's I all I need." Raven didn't want to hear the end of that story. Rose shrugged and continued to get ready. Raven sighed and laid face first into her bed. Raven needed to wait until it felt natural. She was okay with that and smiled.
