Winter

The time of winter soon came, frost building up on windowsills, snow laying soft white blankets across the whole surfaces in EAH, and every natural liquid surface freezing over on top. The students all bundled up and got their hot cocoas in their hands. Dexter Charming was searching the halls for his beloved. He walked into the Mad Hatter's tea shoppe but only saw Maddie and Apple in their winter themed outfits drinking iced tea. Dexter soon. Walked towards the muse-ic room. Melody, Briar and Meeshell were chatting up about some new tunes for the upcoming winter ball. Dexter sighed and headed towards the student common room. It was just Farrah and Ashlynn deciding on what look to wear for the ball. Dexter then went for broke and knocked on Raven's door. Rosabella walked up to answer it. She was wearing her winter outfit and Daring was laying on her bed looking at himself with his mirror.
"Have you seen Raven?" He asked walking in. Daring looked up and groaned.
"Your girlfriend's not here little bro, so leave me to mine..." He winked at Rose. She blushed but she pondered his question.
"The last time I saw her was this morning, She Left with her guitar and a small black chest." She stated. Dexter had an idea.
"Thanks Rose." He left on that note. Rose closed the door. Daring patted the spot next to him while holding a single rose in his mouth.
"Now Rose, where were we?"

Dexter was wading through the branches and shrubs until he walked upon the now frozen enchanted lake. The willow trees were frozen in place and Raven was sitting in the middle of the frozen lake strumming her guitar in front of a photo placed between two candles. She started to sing a song as Dexter slowly walked up but she didn't notice. He stood at the edge of the lake.

Raven concluded with one last soft strum on her guitar. Dexter clapped and walked towards her. She wiped her tears and Dexter sat Down next to her. He wrapped one of his arms around her.
"That was beautiful." He kissed her cheek. He saw the slightly melted candles and a faded photograph of a young bright and cheery Raven cuddling with... The Evil Queen?! He gulped and squinted his eyes. She actually looked... Happy?! She looked like she was the happiest mom alive with Raven. Raven sighed.
" I miss her. I mean- I miss who she used to be. She was the best mom ever to me until... Reality struck in." She said snuggling up to Dexter.
" I'm sorry Raven. " he said.
"She used to take me here..." She smoothed the glossy frozen lake with her bare hand. She looked upon the white landscape remembering a time of a 5 year old Raven and her mother building snow queens. The queen, surprising her daughter with a surprise snowball as little Raven stumbled to throw some back. She snapped back into present time as their laughter faded away in her head. She shook the memory from her head.
"But things are different now. She made her choices... And I have to make mine." Raven said tuning her guitar. Dexter was hurt to see Raven so sad. She missed her mother, well, kinda. Dexter had a great mom but she could be a little... Much sometimes.
"I'm sorry Raven, everyone deserves a loving mother." He held one of her hands. She sighed.
"All I know is, I would never treat my daughter like that, when I have one someday." She looked into the clouds that poured snowflakes onto the land.
"Yeah, our daughter will have the greatest mom ever." Dexter said looking into the clouds with her. She blushed and smiled, she laid her head on his shoulder.
"And the best dad." She ended with. They both chuckled and got up and headed back towards the school. A strange shadow appeared in the reflection of the frozen lake. It soon became more familiar as an image of the infamous evil queen appeared laughing evilly. She tapped the frozen lake with one of her sharp fingers and it cracked.
"Don't worry my little black bird..." She released a smoky spell onto the whole lake as it cracked all over showing a purple lift. The Evil Queen soon burst led out and tapped her heals against the broken frozen lake. She stretched and erupted purple smoke from her hands. The Evil Queen was free once more. She walked towards the school.
"... Momma' coming home."
