The new year brought new beginnings. The old grows back into the new, and the new excites people. They see is it as if they themselves become better as the first day of the year comes by. Dexter and Raven were relaxing on his bed in his dorm room, Daring was with the Rose of course. Dexter poured rose pink bubbling champagne into two crystal glasses for him and Raven. Raven gave him a kiss and the fireworks outside started to erupt into the sky. The clock strikes 1:01 as Dexter and Raven spent their first minute of the new year together. The clinked their glasses and each took a few sips. Raven soon checked her mirrorphone for it blew up with notifaircations from her friends on mychapter. They were posting pics of their friends, stealing kisses, and celebrating by doing things off-script. Raven giggled at the video of Kitty being scared in a tree as the fireworks were going on. Dexter put down his glass and gave Raven a surprise hug. Raven put away her phone, hugging her boyfriend back. As Raven relieved her breath, snuggling into the warmth that surrounded her and Dexter, she soon got a sudden chill. A whisper soon followed.
"....Raveeeeeeennnn..." The little hollow voice said. She looked up for a moment trying to find the source of the person who called her name.
"Huh?" Raven said. Dexter cocked his head at her and put his hand on her shoulder.
"What is it Raven?" He asked looking at the direction she was looking at. She was looking towards a somber looking mirror in the dark corner of his room. She slowly pointed her finger at the mirror.
"Was... Was that always there?!" She said as if she saw a ghost. He widened his eyes and cleaned his glasses with the edge of his shirt. Nope. His vision wasn't the problem.
"No but-" he was interrupted by a sleek black Raven squawking on the edge of his open windowsill. It was a smooth jet black with purple highlights. She squinted her eyes at the bird but then remembered a certain person she wanted to see the least at this moment.
"Odd." Dexter said. He got up and adjusted his glasses. He walked towards the bird extending his hand carefully. Raven gasped and tried to grab him.
"Wait Dex don't!-" Dexter was knocked back as the bird screeched at him. It flew around the room and then perched it's silver claws on the frame of the dark mirror. Dexter stumbled on the bed and held Raven with one of his arms. The screeching bird soon stopped screeching, it turned into more and more of an evil laugh. It kept laughing as Dexter realized what was going on.
"Raven... Is that-" before he could finish his sentence, shadow erupted from the bird and after purple and ebony smoke faded away, the infamous Evil Queen stood before then checking her nails.
"Mother." Raven bluntly stated as she furrowed her brows at her. Her hands to flare up but with a wave of her finger, the Evil Queen made Raven's hands extinguish. Dexter tightened his grip on Raven. She chuckled and arched her brows.
"Birdie, momma's back!" She presented herself in a triumphant pose. Raven rolled her eyes.
"How did you even escape?" She asked frustrated with her mother. The Evil Queen chuckled and walked towards Raven. She sat down next to her and pushed Dexter off of his bed. Raven gasped and glared at her mother.
"Whoopsie. Look Raven, sadly this visit includes a purpose, I need something." She said. Raven scoffed.
"Of course. Why else would you break free to come see me." Raven stated louder. Dexter got up and groaned, fixing his crooked crown and glasses. He sat in his regal blue chair right across from the bed.
"Raven... What I need..." She pulled Raven closer and tapped her nose.
"... Is you!" She said all cheery. Raven stood back from the bed and shook her head.
"Wait wait wait, what?!" She asked shocked. Dexter tried to not look at the Evil Queen, but he could feel her presence making his skin crawl. The Evil Queen got up and held Raven's hands.
"I know right! Right now I'm only half as powerful as I used to be... But you." She pulled Raven closer and Dexter's heart went racing.
"You are almost as powerful as I used to be. The tablet boosted your power and now you are ready to join me and conquer all of the kingdoms!" She said confidently. Dexter stood up.
"The tablet almost KILLED Raven!" He bravely stated. The Evil Queen turned to him giving a death glare. She waved her finger forcing him to sit down and keep quiet. Raven gasped and crossed her arms.
"Mother!" She said out of anger. The Evil Queen rolled her eyes and let him talk... But not get up.
"Look. The point is, you will finally fulfill your destiny. And, knowing your whole "Rebel" standpoint on that subject... I am willing to make a deal with you." She said circling around Raven. Raven tried to face her mother as she was moving.
"What.... What kind of deal?"
