Raven woke up to the slobbery wet licks from her dragon Nevermore on her face.  Raven groaned and rolled Nevermore off of her and gave her a kiss on the head. She snuggled Nevermore but she soon wriggled free. Raven sighed and grabbed the teddy bear Dexter gave her on the first day of school. It smelled like him, it gave her comfort and security. Today was November 25th, also known as Raven's birthday. She turned 17 today but this princess couldn't care less, she was never big on her birthday. She never really spellebrated her birthday. After Nevermore pounced on her, she sighed in defeat and got up. She put on her slippers and grabbed a bag of premium Dragon food. She poured it into a black bowl encrusted with purple jewels with the name Nevermore engraved in it. Nevermore darted out of the bed and shoved her face into the food, Raven patted her head and made her bed. Raven then remembered since it was the last Saturday of the month, the Castleteria was serving salted caramel and white chocolate cupcakes. They were her favorite, even the thought of them made her stomach growl. As she got dressed, she thought of all the other things she wanted to do today. She wanted to check the Midas Jewelry Boutique for any new items coming out, and she wanted to hang out with Dexter, then she wanted to buy the tickets to the new Taylor Quick concert before they sold out, and finally she wanted go to the new exhibit of the ultra rare Wicked Orchids blooming at the Charming Gardens, she has always wanted to see one and they only bloom after 1000 years after being planted. She was spella hexcited, she got all ready and went over to Rose's side of the dorm only to find not her but a note on her bed.
Raven,
I'm going to go protest the discrimination of Unicorns at the Majestic Racetrack. Be back soon.
Love,
Rosabella B.
Raven shrugged and left her room. When she made her way down to the Castleteria, following the salty sweet smell of caramel filling her nose, only to find crumbs of her favorite pastry on the display plate tower of the cupcakes but no cupcakes. Raven looked around to see if there was another batch, but alas the breakfast table only held other normal breakfast options. Raven sighed but perked up at the thought of knowing they sold the same thing at the beanstalk bakery. She jogged her way down to bookend only to find that the Beanstalk Bakery was closed. She was looking forward all month to that cupcake, now she has to wait a whole month again to get it.
"I hang out with Dex, he will help make me feel better." She called him on her phone.
"Hey Dex, you want to meet me at Bookend?" She asked as she was walking down the road.
"Sorry, I can't. I'm helping Blondie with her show at the Beanstalk Bakery." Raven stopped walking.
"Wait... The bakery is closed." She said.
"Er um, I have to go. Bye sweetie, love you." Before Raven could say anything else, he hung up the phone. Why would he lie about not wanting to hang out with her? She would have to figure that out later, she now has to go to the boutique. She walked in to see Amber Midas, daughter of King Midas, at the desk writing down in her logbooks. Raven walked to the front.
"Sorry Raven but I'm booked for today, all my new stuff is sold out. Sorry." She said. Raven frowned but said thank you and walked out the store. Raven was starting to get frustrated, this day was not starting on the right page. She walked to the gardens. It was filled with vibrant colours and sweet smells, flowers of every kind. She walked to the fairy gardener.
"Hello sir, do you know which way the Wicked Orchids are? I was hoping to see them." The Gardner turned to Raven.
"I'm sorry miss but someone came in and bought all the orchids. Try again in a 1000 years." He said with a monotone voice. He went back to watering the charm flowers and Raven walked out of the garden. This day could not get any worse for Raven, all she had to do now was to go to the Fairygrounds ticket booth to buy a showing to a Taylor Quick concert, but as soon as she got there, the ticket booth troll told her that Taylor Quick was sold out completely. Raven started to well up a little in her eyes, she just wanted this day to be over. She walked back to her dorm in sorrow, she fell face first into her bed and yelled into her pillow. A knock was heard suddenly at the door. Raven groaned.
"Come in." She muffled. Maddie and Apple walked in.
"Come Raven! Let's go grab dinner!" Apple said.
"No thanks. Not hungry." Raven murmured. Apple and Maddie looked at each other.
"Come on Raven! Honey in trees with a sword in half to free to please!" Maddie said nudging Raven to get up. Raven sighed.
"I just don't feel like it." Raven replied.
"Well too bad! Come on!" Apple said while pulling Raven up. Raven groaned but Apple didn't give up. Maddie helped by pulling Raven's hands.
"Ok fine! Let's go." Raven said with defeat.
************************************************************************** Raven walked down to the the Castleteria with Maddie and Apple. As soon as they opened the doors, all of Raven's friends and close acquaintances were all around in a purple and silver themed and decorated room.
"SUPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAVEN!!!" They all shouted. Raven put her hands over her mouth and smiled from ear to ear. She walked in and saw Dexter walked right in front of Raven and kissed her hand. He handed her a wrapped present.
"Happy birthday sweetie." He kissed her cheek. Raven opened it to find necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets  from the new line at the Midas Jewelry Boutique.
"I thought they were overbooked with new orders from the new line!" Raven exclaimed. She hugged Dexter tightly.
"I have been planning this for a week now, I also set up 3,000 caramel and white chocolate cupcakes on display and I bought the Wicked Orchids and placed them all around." He showed Raven all the beautiful Wicked orchids hanging in the walls and the display of her favorite pastry. She began to have tears of happiness. Soon the lights began to dim and everyone got quiet.
"I also may have had someone come to perform for your birthday..." Soon Taylor Quick came out with her microphone and guitar.
"This song goes out to the birthday princess, Raven Queen!" She yelled in her microphone. Everyone cheered as she started to sing. Raven was so happy, this day ended perfectly. She grabbed Dexter and pulled him into the nearby closet. She attacked him with kisses.
"I love you so much Dex." They began to make out but it soon turned into something more. After 15 minutes, Raven put her dress back on and fixed her hair. She threw Dexter his pants as he sat down in the corner still catching his breath. Raven winked at him.
"Let's go back out and hear the concert." He slowly put on his pants and Raven grabbed his hand as she pulled him out of the closet with her. She looked around to see if anyone saw them but no one was in sight, they were all in the Castleteria watching the concert. He gave her a quick kiss.

"Happy birthday."
