It was a stormy night at Ever After High and everyone was cozied up indoors. The sky was a thick layer of black grey smog with gallons and gallons of rain coming down by the second. The claps of Thunder followed by a bright spark of light comming down on the land. It was disappointing that students could not go out and enjoy their Friday shopping in Bookend or going to the Multihex. There were  upsides to the storm as well. Rosabella went over to Daring's dorm this night which made Dexter staying over with Raven for the night as well. After they were done being intimate, Raven felt so euphoric that she basically forgot about the evil tablet. Another clap of thunder came and startled Raven. She jumped a little and clung on to Dexter. Dexter chuckled.
"What's so funny?" She bopped her finger on his nose. He put the hand wrapped around her down to her waist to hold her closer.
"I just find it adorable that your scared of thunder." He smuggled his face into her neck. She scoffed.
"Me? Scared of thunder?" After she finished that statement, another clap of thunder came. She was startled and snuggled closer, she could feel the heat radiating off of his body. They were about to start again when a thud was heard in Raven's desk drawer. He stopped kissing her neck and looked up.
"Did you hear that?" He looked around the room. Raven tried to distract him by kissing him back but that only worked until another thud was heard. He froze for a while until a couple thuds were heard soon after. He sat on his knees.
"Raven what is that?" Raven sighed. She might as well tell him.
"Dexter there is something I haven't been telling you." Raven sat up as well. Dexter looked at Raven and held her hands.
"Raven?" Raven started to well up tears in her eyes. Dexter held her head to his chest.
"Hey hey hey. It's ok, just tell me." He petted her hair as she sniffled. She backed up and looked at him.
"When Faybelle went on the field trip to Neverland, she found one of my Mothers most evil artifacts. It's an ancient evil tablet that only the bloodline of the Evil Queen can open. Faybelle wanted to keep it but I took it from her. Rose said if I unlock it, it could help me fix all the stuff she broke. I don't know if that is true, but if it makes things worse I could never forgive myself. I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to worry and think I'm just too much and leave." She sobbed into his chest he lifted her chin up.
"Raven. I would never leave you. You are my true love and I would never abandon you no matter what. I will always be there for you." He kissed her. She hugged him tight as he wiped the tears off her face.
"Now. What would make logical sense is that if your mom used it, it would follow the command of the person who uses it." Raven pondered it for a second and nodded. She got up and handed Dexter his boxers and T-Shirt.
"Wait... What about, we were about to..." Raven giggled and kissed his cheek.
"Wait until next time. You already got me tonight." She slipped back on her underwear and a loose purple silk dress. Dexter got his clothes on and fumbled with his sweatpants. Raven took the key off of her necklace and unlocked the drawer. It was glowing purple, but this time it didn't go away.
"It never glowed this long before." She picked up the tablet and set it between her and Dexter on the bed. Dexter noticed the fingerprint ovals in the tablet.
"It's your choice Raven." She squeezed Dexter's hand and took in a deep breath. She places her fingertips in the ovals. As her skin touched the enchanted stone, a wave of a cold shadow rolled over her. Raven suddenly turned ice cold, she was motionless. After one blink, her eyes glowed a dark violet all over. She stood straight up and didn't breath. Dexter tried to touch her shoulder.
"R-Raven?" She levitated the tablet and walked out onto the balcony. Dexter grabbed his jacket and glasses. She stood on the balcony and let the pounding rain hit against her skin. The tablet levitated as it changed symbols and had stones that had different symbols on it. She stepped up on the edge.
"Raven?! Snap out of it!" He yelled trying to grab her hand.
The tablet stopped glowing and Raven held it to her chest. One foot went off and then the other. She began to fall when she was caught by Dexter's hand. She closed her eyes and opened them to reveal her normal purple eyes. She threw the tablet over to inside the room and tried to hold on.
"Dex-DEXTER!!! HELP!!" She yelled. The rain made his grip more loose but he would rather die than let go. He grunted but held on by grabbing under her shoulders. He hoisted her up and dragged her inside with him. He shut the balcony door and held her close. They were both shaking and stared into each others eyes.
"Are you... You okay?" He cupped his hands on her face. She got up and threw the tablet in her drawer and locked it. She ripped the key off and threw it into her closet.
"I am never touching that thing again." She sat on her bed. Dexter got up onto her bed and wrapped himself around her. He pressed his forehead to hers.
"You don't have to. I won't let that happen to you again." She hugged him tighter. She was so lucky to have him. She kissed him and rested her head on his chest. He stroked her hair.
"I love you Dexter."  She whispered to him.
"I love you Raven." He stared at the drawer. How could he let that happen to Raven? He was supposed to protect her. He would never let that happen again.
"Tomorrow I am treating you to a nice dinner. I'm going to treat you like the princess you are." He gave her a kiss. She smiled.
"That sounds Hexcellent." She said. She closed her eyes and soon they both feel asleep. The rain and thunder stopped outside... But was the storm really over?
