Ashton's POV
I figured Kaylee would be gone for a while so that buys me some time. I have to go meet some very important people. I don't really want her to know who I'm going to see, but I don't really want to hide it from her either. I feel like a terrible person because she's so freaked out over this.
"Savannah." I say and the group turns around.
"Ah, Ashton, my dear friend, how are you?" She chimes.
"I came to talk to you about something." I huff.
"Well you don't have to be mean about it." Kelsey, another girl says.
"Why are you guys spying on Kaylee?" I ask.
"You know we get jobs for this, duh." Savannah sneers.
"I understand, but why is she on your list. What's wrong with her? Who's after her?" I scold.
"We can't give out that kind of information. But nothing is wrong with her and no one is after her. What we can tell you is that someone's worried about her." She states and I feel confused.
"What are you talking about?" I ask.
"Kaylee is a very, closed up person. In general you would think she is simple and easy to figure out, well she's not. She's had a lot of bad times. Just be careful Ashton, she'll hide more from you than you think." She says with sincerity in her voice.
"No, she's opened up to me." I try to defend, but even I know that's not true.
"Yeah, she has in terms of attitude, but secrets and stories, personal information, not so much." Kelsey butts in.
"Just be careful Ashton. No one knows as much as we do." She smiles.
"That's not true." I say softly.
"What do you mean?" Eddy, a guy apart of the group asks.
"She has three friends. Like close friends, but ones not as close as the other two. Bree, the one she lives with. I'm pretty sure she tells her everything." I explain.
"Well we know they're close, but I don't think she knows the latest of Kaylee's secrets." Savannah looks worried.
"She is with her right now. She said they got in a fight but I know there is more going on." I say.
"If Bree knows about this, then that means Kaylee can't be watched anymore." Kelsey says.
"What? Why?" I ask.
"If there's one person, at all, that she tells everything to, we have to step back. Our job was to get her to open up with someone. If she did it on her own, there's no need for us." Savannah explains.
"Oh, well either way, you have to tell her what you do and who you are. You freaked her out." I say.
"What do you mean?" Kelsey asks.
"The coffee shop." I state simply.
"Ohh yeah. We'll go now." Savannah smiles.
"No, she's busy right now." I say. One of them was about to say something but my phone rings. I look at caller i.d and it's Kaylee. I debate on answering it, but do it anyway.
"Hello." I say.
"Hey, when will you be home?" She asks.
"You're back already? Just lock your doors and wait for me." I say.
"Mmmmkay." She says and hangs up.
"You can't go now. She's waiting for me, and I'm still and hour away." I warn them.
