Lily's POV

I quickly rushed around my house trying to find my work shirt. I just couldn't find it anywhere. I swear I left it on the dryer.

"Mom do you know where my work shirt is? I have to leave soon."

"It's right here honey." My mom replied while she handed me my shirt.

I just don't get how moms can just find everything. I feel like little elves take it and then put it back when she is looking for the object. It always works like that.

"Why didn't you start getting ready sooner? Mom asked me.

I always was terrible at time management. I was always busy doing something. I don't know, it just happens like that. I replied with a quick "I was busy."

Mom just snorts. "Doing what?"

I looked down sheepishly. "Watching Doctor Who."

Mom gives me a look. I mean it's not my fault the show is so good. I just love the different personalities the different Doctors have. I mean they are unique in their own way.

I quickly finished getting ready because I didn't want to be late. I may not be good at timing things out, but I don't like to be late for work. I quickly put a thick sweater on because of the cold Vermont weather. I rushed out to my car and drove off.

I drove the usual ten minutes and parked at the cafe I worked at. It's called Annie's Diner; it was a fair sized restaurant that was really popular in the town, plus the food is really good.

As I walked in, I took off my sweater and clocked in. I put on an apron that I tied around my waist, washed my hands, and then grabbed everything else I needed. I was quick to set off to work. I always was doing something constantly, because I felt guilty just standing there plus, it was amazing how many things that you could find to do.

I helped my portion of tables as they came in. I really liked helping the tables. It was nice to actually talk to people because if you talk to my parents they will say I am anti-social. I mean I kind of am. I have friends; it's just that I like being at home... eating food... watching Netflix... with myself.

"You have a table." My coworker, Evangeline, said while handing me menus.

"Thanks Evie." I replied as I walked away toward the table.

I somehow knew that this table wasn't going to be like the other tables I served. I could feel in my gut that it was different. As I was walking to the table I was studied the people. There were five guys that looked to be in their teen years and they were cute, like guys in social media cute if you know what I mean. Anyways, as I neared their table one of the guys looked to be sniffing the air. I mean that is kind of weird, but I mean it is a diner with good food.

"Hello, how are you guys doing today?" I greeted as I reached the table and passed out the menus.

They all mumbled a quick 'good' and looked back down at their menus.

"Can I get you guys something to drink?" I asked trying to break the awkward silence.

"We would all like some water please." One of them said. When I looked up at him, he stood out from everyone else. Clearly he was the leader of the group. There was something different about him but I couldn't quite figure it out.

"Okay I will be right back with your waters then." I replied.

I went back to the counter and got out glasses for the waters and started filling them with ice.

Evie came by, "Those guys are cute aren't they?"

I replied, "Yeah but they are awkward. Or maybe it's just me... yeah it's me. Just kidding I don't know."

"It probably is you, I mean look at them they don't seem awkward and the one guy keeps watching you. He hasn't stopped looking at you since you got their drink order."

"That's just creepy." I said and I loaded all the waters onto a tray. I walked over to the table and handed them out and took their orders.

The leader of the table wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was staring at me and it was really freaking me out. I walked away quickly trying to get him to stop looking at me. I put their orders in the computer and started cleaning again. I like to earn my money fair and square.

"The guy finally stopped staring." Evie came up to me.

"Good he was starting to creep me out." I replied as I rinsed out a washcloth. "It kind of reminds me of the dad and his son that walked in and the kid freaked out and walked right back out."

"Now that was embarrassing, I mean the guy didn't have to yell to figure out who was who."

"True, but I still think it was funny that the kid lost the bet because there were cute girls here. Which by the way, we aren't just cute, we're hot."

"Please, don't remind me." Evie replied. Her cheeks turned a bright shade of red as she put her head down and walked away.

When my order was ready I brought it out to my table. When I had set everything down I asked, "Is there anything else I can get you guys?"

"Yeah, you." The leader replied.

I was a little confused, I don't think I heard him right. "I'm sorry what did you say?"

Kevin looked straight at me with a serious look. "I said you."

I let out a nervous chuckle, "Ok then."

I let out a couple more nervous chuckles and then walked away.

"Lily are you okay?" Evie asked me.

"Oh yeah I am fine. Those guys are just creeping me out."

Evie looks at me with concern. "Do you want me to take over?"

"Yes please." I reply. "I am going to run to the restroom quickly."

I threw my apron on the counter and headed to the bathroom. I locked my stall and started pacing. I took some deep breaths to calm down. I really hated work sometimes because I am so awkward that I get overwhelmed easily.

After a couple minutes I walked out of the restroom after I washed my hands and then put my apron back on.

Evie approached me, "Are you ok?"

"Yeah I will be. Thank you."

I mostly cleaned after that, I was paranoid. I read a lot of books so that probably explains it. When the group of boys left I felt a little bit better but I was still kind of freaked out. Evie cleared off the table and came back and gave me the tip.

I gave her a weird look, "Why did you give me this?"

"Technically it's yours since you put their order in and helped them the most."

"Okay, thank you I guess."

I took the money from her and snuck some of the money into her tip bucket because I mean she did help them so she earned it.

I finished the cleaning list that we had to do each night and then helped Evie with hers. By the time we were done it was 9:15. We walked out to our cars together. When I got into my car I immediately locked the doors and put the car in drive and drove home.

There was one thing that I was thinking about all night though. And that was Kevin. I just couldn't get him out of my head. I really wanted to though because he freaked me out.
I hope that he will be out of my head tomorrow was my last thought before I fell asleep.
