Chapter 10

Lily's POV

I was sleeping but yet I wasn't. I could hear everything around me but my eyes weren't opening. My head was pounding and I didn't know why. I just wanted to sleep for like ten days.

I groaned and rolled over. That sparked an interest to someone because I heard feet rush over. "Come on Lily. Open your eyes please."

I was trying to do what the voice said but it wasn't working. It felt like someone put strong tape on my eyelids. After I tried to open my eyes a couple times and it didn't work I just laid there. Eventually I feel asleep.

The next time I woke up, I heard talking. It sounded very professional too because I couldn't understand some of the words that they were saying.

Suddenly a bright light assaulted my eyelids. I groaned again and opened my eyes a little. I immediately regretted it. I quickly closed them and then the light went away.

"Try again Lily. I know you can do it."

This time when I opened my eyes. I rubbed my eyes with my hands and when I took them away I saw my parents.

"Mom? Dad? Where am I?" I asked.

"You're in the hospital honey." My dad replied.

"Why?" Was my simple reply.

"Do you not remember what happened?" My mom asked worried.

I shook my head no and she left the room.

"It's ok honey. She is just going to get the doctor. Now come here." My dad walked toward me with his arms extended. I carefully leaned forward and gave my dad a long hug.

When my mom and the doctor walked into the room we pulled away.

"I was told you don't remember what happened." The doctor started. I nodded my head yes and he continued. "Where you hit your head might be the reason that your memory is gone otherwise it is just a way of your body not wanting to remember what happened. We will get you a CAT scan to see about your head. I will be back in soon to get you ready." With that he left the room.

My mom came over and gave me a long hug like my dad did. When she pulled away she started talking. "How are you feeling?" She asked. I just shrugged. It was silent in the room after that.

I almost fell asleep again when the doctor came into the room. "It's ready." He announced. A nurse came in with a wheelchair and helped me into it. Once I was in the wheelchair the nurse started wheeling me out of the room.

"We will be here when you get back honey." My mom said.

With that we went out the door. I was rolled down multiple hallways and it seemed to take forever to get there. When we actually reached the CAT scan room, a couple of nurses helped transfer me to the other bed.

"This is gonna be loud, okay hunny?" One of the nurses asked. I nodded my head. She adjusted the blanket and then walked out of the room. She left and the CAT scan started. I closed my eyes hoping this would go faster. I must have fallen asleep because when I heard the door open I jumped.

"Calm down honey. It's just me." The same nurse from before said. She smoothed down my hair while more nurses came into the room.

They helped me back into the wheelchair and brought me back to my room. When we got there they helped me onto the bed and left.

"How are you feeling honey?" My dad asked.

"I'm ok." I replied. "Just tired."

"Yeah the doctor said that you would feel tired. He said it is normal." My parents moved their chairs closer to my bed and held my hand. P pop We sat in silence for a couple minutes and I just gave into the exhaustion.

I was in the hospital for four days after that. It was very stressful. I didn't know why I was in there to begin with. My parents wouldn't tell me and that just left me very confused and angry that they wouldn't tell me. When I finally got home, I was relieved. I could sleep in the comfort of my own room and not be as interrupted as much.

When I got out of the car I didn't realized how much I missed my house until I saw it. As I stepped in the house I took a deep breath and relaxed as I smelled the familiar scent of home. My parents came in carrying the bag of clothes that they brought me while I was at the hospital.

"I'm going to go take a nap." I told them. My parents nodded their heads in agreement.

"You need all the sleep you can get. The doctor said that you would be tired for a couple more days. It is the way of your body recuperating." My dad said.

I nodded my head and started walking to my room. I was already in a sweatshirt and sweatpants so I just got into my bed and pulled the covers over me and gave into the darkness.

When I was starting to wake up, I heard shuffling. I didn't really think much about it. I couldn't tell what time it was because my curtains were closed. When I opened my eyes I saw my mom in my room.

"Mom? What are you doing?" I asked.

"I was putting your clothes away. I didn't think that you would want to do it. I also didn't know when you would wake up."

I looked around. "What time is it?

"It is 11 honey."

I slept for a long time but I mean I'm not complaining about it.

"Are you hungry?" My mom asked. I nodded my head. "Well then come down to the kitchen and I will make you some soup."

She left the room and I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I also washed my face, put my hair in a messy bun, and put my glasses back on. I went down to the kitchen.

"Your soup is done honey." My dad said while looking up from the newspaper. I took a seat by him and started eating my soup.

It was a very awkward silence and I didn't know why. I felt like they were hiding something from me. I still don't know why I was in the hospital to begin with.

"What are you going to do today honey?" My dad asked me.

I thought about it for a minute before replying. "Do you just want to watch movies with me? I don't feel so good."

"Sure go grab the movies and the blankets and meet me in the living room."

When he said that I went upstairs and grabbed five movies and some blankets. I met my dad in the living room and sat on the couch by him. I grabbed most of the blankets and put them on me. This was going to be a good day.
