Brianna POV

It took a few days to regain most of our sanity. I still had nightmares. I still woke up screaming I could hear Sephits words again and again. But we were allowed out of the special hospital for insane elementals, apparently, insanity is a big part of having powers to control the elements. When we had escaped the maze, Gray had contacted the head lords of Certona to come and take us to the hospital. So I was in the almighty city of the elementals. I was wandering around the corridors of the main court. I turned a sharp left and found myself in the main room, the big marble room I had seen in the mind of Sephits. It looked bigger from where I stood, I had to look up to the three thrones, instead of me looking down at the people. I soon realised that I wasn't alone, the red drapes behind the throne where fluttering. I carefully began to walk up the marble steps to enter the hidden room It was dusty and the air was dry, there were rows of dusty old scrolls. I bent down and picked up one that had fallen, I unravelled it. My eyes widened in shock and my lung constricted in panic, a picture of the maze in which we had just escaped from, a dragon was savagely tearing up a man, who was laughing. I couldn't understand why. A voice echoed through the hall,

"Bree?" Ash's deep voice called.

I hurriedly shoved the scroll into my back pocket, I listened for sounds of breathing. Nothing moved, I slipped out quietly and ran back to my temporary room. Ash came in a second later, he leant against the door and glared at me.

"I was sent to tell you that Jay is awake," He said with bitterness. He sneered once more, then turned and hurried out the room. I felt like kicking him!

Jay POV

I had had my back turned when the air froze, so I had no clue of what was happening. I couldn't seem to move, all I could hear was whimpering, a loud crash and some screaming. Then the loud roaring and hissing, and the air pressure rose to brain-scrambling level, and I passed out. I had no idea how long he had been out for, but when I awoke I was in the infirmary in Certona. It had been 7 years since I had stepped foot into Certona. I remembered every inch on the city, the second thing I remarked was that Breanna wasn't in one of the infirmaries. A horrible thought crossed his mind, they would have brought back her body if she was... No. my head was pounding and his muscles were throbbing in pain. I grabbed the phone on the bedside table and knocked over a jug of water I didn't care, the screen lit up and the date popped up, Thursday 18th of April. I had been out for 5 days, no wonder Breanna wasn't here, she was probably already awake. A nurse entered with a tray of food, she smiled and said,

"Your girlfriend will be happy that you're up. She has been up for 3 days and she spent all of them with you. She has a lot of power, we tried to heal the deep gashes on her back and arms but every time we touched her lightning crackled along her body and we got electrocuted." Jay couldn't help smiling that she was okay. The nurse made her cuts sound better than I had imagined I didn't realise that I was holding my breath but I exhaled, maybe she was trying to reassure me. Either way, it worked.

Brianna came and visited him near 2:30, she still looked as beautiful as usual. A huge smile made her wince as a cut on her left cheekbone opened, a small trickle of blood traced its way to the base of her neck. She ran up and gave me a bone-crushingly tight hug, a pain raced through my body. She pulled back, looking around to see if anyone was around, and then she groped around in her back pocket. She tugged out a rolled piece of paper, and unravelling it, she whispered,

"I found it in the main hall. Look, it's what happened to us in the maze!"

I was dumbfounded,

"How could they know about this, plus the scroll looks old. No way this is a fresh document. Who else knows about this?"

Glancing around owns more, she whispered,

"Just you, me, and Cameron."

"Cameron? Why did you tell him?!"

"I know you don't like him, and he doesn't like you either. But he is still my best friend! And you, well I had to tell you." Her voice had cracked a bit at the end. I crashed back against the pillows and gave an audible sigh.

"You know what this means? You're being watched! And I don't like that!"

"What now?" Breanna said so quietly he could barely hear her.

"I'm pretty sure that this won't be the only time that power gets to people's heads. And I want to find out who is watching my girlfriend." Brianna looked a bit worried but she nodded.

Brianna POV

We all met up at the front gates of Certona. Even if Certona was beautiful and powerful, I had had enough of all this stupid surveillance thing.

"Ok. Well, I'm ready to go." I said as I took a step towards the gates.

"Me too." Jay and Cameron said simultaneously, both stepping back.

"I'm coming with you!" Ash announced, "I belong with you." He said looking at Jay.

"Same here!" Edlen and Demetrius said.

Gray just came and stood behind me, there was no way he would leave us.

"I'm sorry! I can't do this!" Alay said miserably, "I'll stay in Certona."

"Me too. We will stay together." Irey said gently.

Freya and Grace just walked over to us. Only Kyle stayed behind.

"Listen. I love you guys and you are my family. But I think I should stay in Certona. Well, um." He didn't have time to finish, he just looked down.

I moved forwards,

"Kyle, can we talk. You guys go load our stuff." I dragged Kyle off to the other side of the cabin.

"Kyle, are you stupid!?" I glared at him, "You belong with your family! You belong with me! How could you." I never had time to finish, Kyle had pulled me close and placed his smooth perfect lips on mine. I just relaxed, his hand snaked its way around my waist as I put my hand on the back of his neck.
