One Chance

"Connor!"

The faint call wore the accent Connor was all too familiar with. Immediately, he stopped dead in his tracks and looked behind him.

"Connor, wait!"

Troye ran towards him at full speed. He didn't slow until he was right in front of him. Connor's head told him to turn back around and walk away, but his heart glued his feet to the ground, telling him to stay.

"I... I agree..." Troye panted, "I was acting like Tyler..."

"No shit." Connor said bluntly. He immediately regretted his choice of words as he saw Troye's expression change to a small frown.

"Please... Let me speak, just one more time. I won't try again after this."

"Okay..."

Troye took a deep breath and sighed. "Okay.. When... Oh gosh... When I broke up with Tyler, I knew it was you I wanted. I've always known. Seeing you hurt like this and knowing that I caused it... It rips my heart to pieces Con... I don't know how to make you forgive me, but... I would do anything for you."

"H-how do I know that?..." Connor stuttered.

"Let me prove it to you. Give me one more chance and I'll never let you down."

"Troye..." Connor started.

"Listen to me. You are the only one I want to be with. I want to be close to you and hold hands with you and kiss you and be able to sleep next to you. I want to be able to call you mine and I want to be able to tell the world that I am in love with you."

"W-What?" Connor stuttered.

Troye's face went white as he realised the last words he'd uttered. He looked at Connor with fear in his eyes to find him with a shocked expression.

"I... Err... Look, I ju-"

Connor silently put a finger over Troye's lips before stepping closer.

"Tro... Do you really mean that?"

"I... Of course I do. I love you Connor."

Connor felt his heart beating out of his chest. "I-I don't know what to say..."

"Say that you'll give me just one more chance. Say you'll be my boyfriend...."

"What?"

"Connor, will you be my boyfriend?"

Connor stood staring at Troye and tried to process the words he'd heard. Slowly, he nodded his head before speaking. "Y-yes... Yes of course I will." He said with a smile. Troye took Connor's hand and gently squeezed it.

"I promise I won't ever hurt you again, ever." Troye looked Connor in the eye.

"I believe you." Connor said. "Do you... want to move your stuff back to mine?"

"Are you sure? I can stay in the hotel if you want me to."

"Don't be silly. Come on, let's go."
