"Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to Tell, not stuff to show"

Amanda Clermont steps out of the cab, her pink heels glinting in the sun. She smooths down her dark grey pencil skirt and puts on her favorite pair of shades."Amanda! Over here!"my best friend Amy Paige yells. I smiled and walked over. "Brought you your coffee",Amy said, handing me a white chocolate mocha. And of course, Amy had a zebra frappe off of Starbuck's secret menu.
After one sip, Amy delightfully closed her eyes, enjoying the way the coffee ran over her tastebuds. I took a sip, and and let out a sigh. "You are the best" I told Amy with a foam mustache. She giggled, and I rolled my eyes playfully while wiping it off. "So I was thinking..." Amy started, "oh no."
"Listen! Well, as I was saying, I think we should try a double date, Liam has a friend..." Amy was trying to set me up again. "Oh no you don't, Ames, I told you I'm not dating again" I replied. "Amanda! But what if you find the one" Amy pleadingly said. "There is no 'one', face it Ames, once broken, always broken".
Twenty years hadn't changed anything. I don't believe in love anymore and I never will. "So how are you and Liam?" I asked, changing the subject. Amy jumped up and down and clapped her hands. "Ooohh, yesterday, we were watching a movie, and he just grabbed my face and we launched into a hot make out session." Amy fanned her face, exaggerating as she said the word hot. I rolled my eyes, which I tend to do a lot.
"So how's the new book you're writing?" Amy asked me. Just a few years ago, I had written my first novel, and like that *snaps fingers*, I turned into a bestselling author. "Writers block" I frown. " Email me what you have so far, I'll try and give you a few ideas" Amy said. "You're the best." I gave Amy a hug.
We stopped at the door of my apartment building. "I've got to go to Liam's, but I'll stop in for a bit." Amy said. I just moved into my apartment building, a few months ago, I started living in Albany, New York, for a news writing job, but I couldn't stand to be away from my best friend. So I moved back to Manhattan in New York City.
"Oh my gosh Amanda" Amy said, I had boxes of paper everywhere, I still hadn't finished unpacking. Amy started filing through papers in one of the boxes. "Oh my gosh!!! Amanda look!! It's your four paged bucket list!!" "What!?" I can barely remember it. But I remember the time when I was 14 and wanted to cross everything off. If only I did.
Amy's voice interrupted my thoughts. "Well, I'm going to Liam's. See you later! And tell me if you're up for the double date!!love you!" "Love you too!" I tell her. I reach for my bucket list.
