"The loneliest moment in someone's life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly."
                          •••••••••••
Ice blue eyes stare into mine from across the table.

Paul.

"So how have you been?" He asks me, while straightening his tie and reaching for his cup of coffee, looking at me from above the rim of the mug.

"Great. I published a book, and I've recently gone zip lining, surfing, and a ton of other awesome stuff, how about you?"

"Well I'm a lawyer now." He gestured to his suit and slicked back hair.

I chuckle and study him.

I try to avoid his Ice blue eyes, because it always punches me right in the heart. His blondish brownish hair is slicked back, his pink lips are the same lips I remember kissing. His skin is slightly pale with freckles on his face. And his chin is squared.

I have to say, he's still handsome.

"Are you in a relationship?" Paul asked, my heart felt like it was beating a mile a minute.

His voice was like honey.

"No, I was but he cheated on me."

"Oh." Paul's lips formed an O shape and he took another sip of his coffee.

"How about you?" I asked him. "No, I haven't had the time." He replied.

We stared at each other for a while before he asked me another question.

"Do you still live at the house your dad built for you and your mom?" I shake my head no.

"I live in an apartment now, I can show you, if you want to step in real quick." I fidgeted with my purse zipper. Hopefully he didn't get the wrong message. I didn't want to have sex or anything. I just want to catch up, maybe see if he will give me a second chance.

"Sure."
                              •••••••
Paul laughed as he picked up a picture frame, "you still have this?" He asked me as he stifled back another laugh.

I nodded and smiled.

It was a picture of me and Paul smiling with the water behind us, the sun was in the back, illuminating our faces, we looked so happy.

"We were really happy together." He admitted as he placed the picture frame on the mantle.

"Yeah." I murmured.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" I blurted.

Paul smiled.

"Yeah."
                              ••••••••
By the time the movie was over, it was dark out, the lights were off and it gave the room a blue tint almost.

Paul stood up and stretched.

I stood up too.

Paul was observing me with this look in his eyes that I've never seen before.

And then he started moving towards me. He grabbed my waist and pulled me to him, smashing his lips against mine.

Oh my gosh.
