"No one looks stupid when they're having fun."-Amy Poehler

"Comic con!? Oh dear Amanda, you still are a nerd." I smile shyly. "Who are you dressing up as?" Amy asked. "I don't know yet, are you sure it's fine to go to comic con when I'm 34?" I ask with a blush creeping on my face. "Like Amy Poehler said, 'No one looks stupid when they're having fun.'" I think about Amy's words, and I decide that I'm definitely going to go to comic con.

Amy was painting my face ghostly white, and she smeared black eyeshadow all around my eyes and over the eyelids. "Smile." I smile my best joker smile while she piles red lipstick on and makes it look like my mouth has been cut from my mouth to my cheekbone. "Close your eyes." I close my eyes as she sprays green hair paint over every strand of hair.

I was going for a gender bent Heath Ledger Joker. Once a DC fan, always a DC fan. To be honest, I was really nervous about dressing up at comic con when I'm 34 years old. But Amy says people do it all the time. I take a look in the mirror, smoothing my purple skirt down. I smile and look at Amy's costume, yup, she was Harley Quinn. This was going to be so awesome!!!

I jumped up and down in excitement. "Amy!! We should go get a picture with them!" I point to two cosplayers who are cosplaying as Batman and Catwoman. Like mega ship.

Amy sighs and I drag her over to them. "Nice costume!" The Catwoman says to me. "Thanks! You too!" I reply. We all pose, I act like I'm in a fight with batman. I notice his green eyes, and I kinda get lost in them. I wonder how he looks without the mask. I think I was staring at him for too long because Amy asked if they wanted to go get some food after.

"Sure! Here's my number!" The Batman says excitedly, handing his number to me. I smile and Amy winks at me. Me and Amy continue walking around, looking at booths and other cosplayers. I see three people dressed as the doctor from Doctor Who, one weeping angel from Doctor Who, a ton of anime cosplayers, and group of people dressed as Harry Potter characters. My favorite cosplayers were the batman ones. Especially the one with the pretty green eyes.

Amy buys a star wars necklace from one of the booths. I tried to get into star wars but I never liked it. I bought a couple bookmarks that were designed to look like batarangs. I felt at home here. Sure most of the cosplayers were teenagers but there were adults, we were all just one big happy geek family. I loved it.

His name was Phillip. Phillip the green eyed hero. We were eating together at Red Robbins....yum. Apparently the Catwoman cosplayer was his sister. I felt bad for shipping them together. Amy was talking to Erin, which was the Catwoman, about yoga.

I turn to Phillip and ask him about his job. "I'm a football coach at a high school." He proudly boasts. "What about you?" He asks. "Oh, I'm an author." I say, twirling my straw around in my drink.

"Oh my gosh! Wait are you THE Amanda Clermont!? The one who wrote 'Feeling Blue'!? Oh my gosh I love your book!" I smile. "Yup, that's me." I smile shyly at him, and I notice there's a sparkle in his eye. Erin turns to look at us, "well I think we better go, I have to get up early for work tomorrow."

We all stand up and Phillip's hand accidentally brushes against mine at the table. There's sparks and it shocks us and we both pull our hands away awkwardly. Me and Phillip exchange phone numbers before they leave and we say goodbye.

Amy winks at me. Does Phillip like me? I don't know if I like him. I don't even think I want to date at all still. I felt a little sad about knowing that I had to turn him down. Maybe we can just be friends.
