"It's crazy how someone who used to be a huge part of your life, can be gone in a second."
                             ••••••••
I didn't want to wake up today.

But I did.

The funeral was going to be in a week, and I need to be emotionally prepared for that. Which means going out in public.

What if I see Paul?

No, Don't think that way.

I throw on a pair of bright neon green leggings that reached a little lower on my knees that was designed with neon blue spirals. I pair it with a matching tank top and twist my hair into a high ponytail.

I make sure to grab my phone and my keys, locking my door thirteen times just to make sure, before I left the apartment hallway.

Dang it.

I forgot my purse.

I turn around and and jog back to my door, lifting the key up to twist it in the lock.

"Amanda?"

I scream and jump back, pressing my body against my door.

I start hyperventilating.

It's Paul.

I know it is.

"GO AWAY!!!" I scream, tears threatening to spill out of my eyes.

A hand touches my shoulder.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!!!" I turn around to find Chris standing there.

Not Paul.

"I'm....I'm sorry, I have to go." I apologize and jam my key into the lock, and yank the door open, slamming it behind me.

I fall against the door, tears streaming down my face.

"I can't do this anymore." I whisper to no one but myself.

In my peripheral vision, I see a framed photo of Amy and I.

It was an Autumn day, I was giving her a piggy back ride, of course because she was the smaller one, the one with the more petite figure. Her shiny blonde hair was cascading down both of our shoulders. Her smile was wider than the moon. Liam had taken that picture. Along with another picture of that same day, where we were both in the middle of a laugh.

"Smile!" Liam said, we both gave him the biggest smile we could muster, Liam lowered the camera and stared at Amy, "My gosh, you're beautiful." I knew Amy was smiling. Her arms tightened around my shoulders and Liam brought the camera up again. Right then, a bird flew overhead and Liam's head was hit with #2. Me and Amy burst out laughing and Liam's finger hit the button to take a picture as he tried not to drop the camera. Amy hopped off of my shoulders and Liam tried to rub his head over Amy. "No! Stop it!" She shrieked with laughter as he encircled his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him. "Don't You DARE, Liam William Nelson!" "It's just bird poo." I told Amy smiling. Liam chuckled in her ear and hugged her to him. "Yeah Amy, it's just bird poo." Amy gave me a death glare. "I will murder BOTH of you!" Amy screamed. We both chuckled. Amy got herself out of Liam's arms and he began to chase her around the park. My gosh they were the cutest couple to ever live.

I start sobbing.

Why did this have to happen to Amy?

I bite my lip and try to stop the tears.

My eyes hurt so bad.

I still don't feel like me in this body.

I was violated.

My body is shaken with sobs.

Pull yourself together Amanda.

I wipe my tears away with the bottom part of my palm.

I think Chris left now.

I shakily stand up and grab my red purse, throwing it over my shoulder.

I'm going to go get coffee.
                               ••••••••
The delicious, bitter, rich, strong aroma of coffee filled my nose as I stepped into the small busy coffeeshop.

A couple were sitting over in the corner, laughing about something.

A lone red head girl sat in another corner, staring out the window.

A cluster of people were in the middle of the shop, all laughing and talking, smiling.

I seemed so out of place.

I try to put on a smile, but it's so forced, and it hurts. So I let it drop.

"One Coffee, black, no sugar or cream." I order, tapping the counter with my index finger subconsciously as I wait.

"Here you go." The man from behind the counter hands me my coffee and I give him money. "Thank you." It's almost a whisper but he still hears me.

Suddenly my hot coffee is spilled all over me.

"I'm so sorry!! Omg I am sooo sooo sorry!!!" The girl with the red hair was apologizing as she scrambled to get napkins.

"It's okay." I smile.

It didn't hurt.

I've had worse than hot coffee spilled on me.

"It probably burns so bad, I'm so sorry." She apologized again. Her voice was soft and airy like flour but had a little pressure on it.

She looked like she was around the same age as me, same height too.

She had green eyes and freckles dotted her cheeks and nose.

A blush was creeping on her face, she was a shy person. I could tell by the blush and awkward stance.

She had on a light yellow vintage dress that had brown birds on them. Complete with a brown fedora and brown strap sandals.

Her glasses fell forward a bit and she pushed them up with two petite fingers.

She didn't wear any makeup, and she was still really pretty.

"It's okay." I smiled.

"I'll buy you another coffee." She said.

I waved it off, "no, honestly I probably wasn't going to even drink it." I chuckle and she smiles.

She awkwardly stuck her hand out. "I'm Bridgette."

I take her hand and shake it.

"Amanda."

A/N
Sorry for the delay, I had writer's block!! So what do you think of Bridgette?

Do you think Amanda should go ahead and try to get a new best friend? Or is she destined to be alone?

And how do you all feel about Chris?

Please let me know! Love you all!!
