chapter 4

Miranda's POV

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

My eyes shot open, but I immediately closed them because the sunlight was too much for me. I stretched my arm out and started banging my nightstand until I could find the devil that is in the form of an alarm clock.

When the clock finally stopped beeping, I slowly opened my eyes and sat up.

Today is the first day of my senior year.

Yay!

No.

To be completely honest, I'm not worried about being the new girl. This school is gonna take some getting used to, but eventually I will settle in. I mean it can't be that bad, right?

After rubbing my eyes, I brushed my teeth before jumping in the shower to wash the sleep off. I used my new strawberry shampoo I got from bath and body works.

15 minutes later, I'm in my closet and I don't know what to wear. I care a lot about what I wear because I love expressing myself and making a statement. I decided on a blue flowy tank top, black lace shorts, and my black converse. I stood in front of my body length mirror to check my outfit out.

Not bad, eh?

I'm not much of a make up person when it comes to going to school. Why should I have to look like a doll to learn? I put a coat of mascara on, slabbed some eyeliner on my eyelids, and finished with clear lipgloss.

After my little makeup session, I grabbed my phone and earplugs and shoved them into my backpack. Then rushed downstairs to greet my mom.

"Hey hon, ready for the first day?" My mom asked with a smile. She was seated on one of the stools.

"Yeah, I guess you could say that, Ooh pancakes!" I screamed out of excitement. I pulled up a stool, and immediately began munching on the pancakes after drenching them in maple syrup and whipped cream.

"Thanks mom, it was good." I complimented after I finished my food. I checked the time on the clock to see that it was 6:45, school starts at 7:25.

"Okay, I'm leaving now," I said while grabbing my car keys off the mini hook.
"Have a good day, sweetheart!" My mom cheered, as I opened the door.

"You too!"I called out before shutting the door. I jogged to my white Lexus sitting there in all its beauty. I got this car last year for my 16th birthday.

Definitely one of the best days ever.

I hopped in and started the car. From the corner of my eye I could see Kevin making his way to his own car. I decided to avoid him after what he said to me. Anything I say will set him off  so I'm just not gonna talk to him, well at least try.

☆☆☆

The halls were full of returning students reuniting, some trying to get their lockers open, and a few couples making out. I decided to head to the main office- if I can find it-  to receive my schedule.

After ten minutes of roaming the hallways for a sign, I found the main office and walked in to receive my schedule.

"Name?" An old lady at the front desk asked. She looked like she was in her 70's with her gray hair and pale skin. Her voice was raspy and unpleasant, you could tell she was growing older by the minute.

"Miranda Kents," I answered.

"Oh you're new here. Welcome to Beverly Hills High." She stated oh so happily before giving me my schedule and my locker combo.
