Miranda's POV
After lunch ended, I headed back to my locker to grab my books for the last two classes of the day, Gym and Chemistry. I don't need anything for gym because from what I've heard it's just an introductory day.
I found the gymnasium pretty quickly so I walked in and spotted Ryan talking up some girl. Definitely the player type.
Deciding not to intrude, I found a spot in the bleachers and sat down waiting for further instructions on what to do. The gym teacher, Mrs.Greener was talking to another teacher that I've never seen before.
There were a bunch of boys on the court fooling around, and playing basketball. I continued watching the game and I notice Kevin shoot the three pointer. When it went in, all the boys on his team started cheering and high fiving him.
Aww, how cute. Note the sarcasm.
Wait. If Kevin is here that only means that...
Dammit, Kevin is in my gym class. Out of all the classes he could've been in, it just had to be gym. Ughhh.
"Okay, guys stop playing and get to the bleachers, I have a few things to say." Mrs.Greener called out to the boys. They all stopped what they were doing and made their way to the bleachers. When I looked up, Kevin was laughing at something one of the boys said.
"Okay, so welcome back Seniors. I hope your summer was enjoyable. Now this year we will be focusing on being physically active by playing a bunch of different sports. We will also be running the mile after every marking period." There were a bunch of groans and boos when she announced the mile part. After her little speech was done, she told us we can talk for the rest of the class. I decided to just pull out my phone and play "Rolling Sky" because the teacher didn't seem to care.
"Hey Miranda," a voice greeted. I looked up to see Ryan taking a seat next to me.
"Oh, hey Ryan," I smiled.
"So, you must have a lot of fire in you because you were actually able to get Stella to shut up," Ryan commented. I chuckled in reply. I guess I do have "a lot of fire in me".
"Yeah I guess. She was being really annoying and somebody had to do something about it." I replied.
"Well thank you for that. You're right she was getting annoying." Ryan said.
Wait aren't they supposed to be friends?
"You don't like her?" I asked.
"Hell no, she's such a bitch." Ryan complained.
"So do any of you like her?" I asked. Why the hell does she sit at the table if none of them tolerate her?
"Nope, except for Kevin, they're kind of a thing but he's not even that interested in her," he explained.
"Ohhh, see now that makes more sense," I confirmed, he nodded in reply.
"So, I saw you trying to get that girl over there. Did it work out?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Yep. I used one of my famous pick-up lines, wanna hear one? " He asked with a grin.
"Okay, go for it," I smiled.
He cleared his throat before continuing."I seem to be lost. Can I have the directions..to your heart?" That line was enough to cause my right eyebrow to raise.
"That actually worked?" I questioned, in between laughter. That was so corny, I can't even.
"Wow, Miranda. You have such little faith in me," he feigned sadness.
