chapter 8

Miranda's POV

Saturday finally came around. I was finally done with my first week of senior year.

I am currently rummaging through my closet for something to wear. Mikaela and Kelly invited me to the mall, and I'm actually glad because I need a couple more sundresses.

My search was interrupted because something noisy hit my window.

What the hell?

I decided to ignore it and pulled out a pair of black leggings. I know I'm gonna have to wear my roshes because we're gonna be doing a lot of walki-

I was interrupted from my thoughts when something else hit my window again.

"Ughhhhh," I groaned before dropping my pair of leggings and stomping towards my window. I pulled the curtains back and lifted up the window to meet Kevin smiling back at me.

"Hey stranger," Kevin greeted. I glared at him for interrupting my search and my thoughts.

"What?" I asked.

"And you're mad at me because?" He asked with a grin covering his face.

Why is he in such a good mood?

"I'm trying to figure out what to wear to the mall," I explained, while sitting on my windowsill.

"Oh well the mall is pretty cold so cover up," he suggested.

"That was pretty helpful," I commented before going back to my closet. I pulled out a Victoria Secret Pink sweater and a purple short sleeved top.

I came back to my window after setting my clothes out.

"So, you don't know where the mall is right?" He asked.

Shit! I forgot about that. I don't even know where the mall is located.

"I'll take your silence as a no." He smiled before continuing, "but I'd be happy to drive you." He offered.

Aww how sweet.

"No, that's okay I can just call Mikaela and tell her to pick me up," I turned down his offer.

Why is he taking time out of his day to drop me off?

"No, I'm driving you," he demanded.

"Why do you wanna drive me? That's wasting your time," I stated. He doesn't have anything else to do?

"Trust me Miranda, you are not a waste of my time, meet me outside when you're ready," he said before shutting his window and closing his curtains.

Something about me not being a waste of his time made me smile. Alright Miranda, shut up.

I quickly changed out of my sweats and threw my clothes on before grabbing my phone and wallet. I stuffed it in my purse and rushed downstairs.

"Hey mom, I can go to the mall with my friends right?" I asked with a pleading smile. I completely forgot about asking my mom.

"Okay, but how are you getting there," my mom asked knowing that I didn't know where to go. Should I tell her Kevin's taking me? I hate lying to my mom about stuff especially because we tell each other everything.

" Uhmm, a boy.." I asked. When she heard the word boy, mom perked up from her seat on the couch.

"And who is this boy?" My mom asked with a teasing smile.

"His name is Kevin, he's actually our neighbor,"  I explained.

"Omg, this is perfect! His mom invited us over for dinner tomorrow," my mom squealed. Oh god.
