•chapter 17•
Miranda's POV
"Guys, this is a serious problem, I don't want to be stuck at home watching them!" Mikaela dramatically stated.
"It can't be that bad," Zach tried to calm her down.
"No, no trust me it is that bad," she sighed.
Ryan, Kelly, Mikaela, Zach, Kevin and I were currently at my shop, seated in a large booth. Mikaela was freaking out because this weekend her parents are going away on a business trip and she has to babysit her twin brothers, Jaden and Justin, which means she can't go anywhere.
"Well do you need help babysitting, I could help if you want," Ryan offered. I tried to suppress the wide smile that was threatening to break out on my face. They were finally gonna have some alone time, and I could tell Mikaela was secretly happy about that as she accepted his offer.
After gulping down the rest of my caramel frappucino, I felt the urge to pee.
"Hey guys, I'll be back," I said before getting up and starting my journey to the restroom.
Being the klutz that I am, I tripped over my feet and was prepared to face plant until two strong arms came around my waist holding me back.
"You okay?" A deep voice asked, making the hairs on my neck stand up. He turned me around and I came face to face with the most gorgeous light blue eyes. His face was perfectly structured, and his jawline was sharper than a knife. His messy brown hair was styled perfectly.
Who the hell is this Greek god?
"Uhm, yeah thank you," I replied. He smiled in reply, showing off his perfect pearly white teeth.
My heart just stopped.
"What's your name?" The beautiful boy asked.
"Miranda," I replied.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl, it makes perfect sense," He smiled.
"Really? That's all you got?" I joked, even though a blush made it's appearance on my cheeks.
"Should I say gorgeous instead?" He continued. It's a good thing his arms are still around my waist, because my knees would've gave out right then and there.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"I'm Brent by the way," he stated as his arms left my waist. I held my hand out for him to shake, and he happily complied.
"Well Brent, thanks for preventing any face injuries for me," I smiled, earning a laugh in reply.
"It's what I do," he shrugged.
The sudden urge to pee vanished into thin air as I took in his features.
"So, I'm pretty sure you owe me since you know I kinda saved your life right there," he started.
Okay now he's overreacting.
"Oh really?" I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, really," He answered.
"Okay, what do you want?" I asked.
"Well for starters, I want your number," he stated.
For starters? There's more?
"What do you need my number for?" I asked, playing hard to get.
"Don't worry about that yet, just insert your number into my phone," he ordered while handing me his shiny black iPhone. I saved a contact under my name before handing his phone back.
