•chapter 16•
Miranda's POV
"You like him Miranda, why can't you just admit it!" Mikaela told me.
"There is nothing to admit because I don't like him!" I replied, reversing her words.
For the past five minutes Mikaela has been trying to get me to admit that I like Kevin, which I don't, and it's getting me frustrated.
She pushed open the doors to the noisy cafeteria, and continued talking as we joined the lunch line.
"So you don't have any feelings for him at all?" She asked, while grabbing two trays.
Maybe. "No I do not, so stop asking me that," I took the tray from her, and grabbed a plate of salad.
"Fine, we're done talking about this for now," She answered, before going to pay for her lunch.
After paying for my lunch, Mikaela and I walked to our lunch table and took our seats. Kelly was already seated and talking with Ryan and Zach.
"Hey guys," Mikaela greeted. I did the same before drinking my water.
Kevin and Stella were talking about something that I wasn't really listening to.
I'd be lying if I said that their closeness didn't bother me, because it did. But they're not all over each other as they were yesterday and that's a good thing.
I'm pretty sure that has something to do with what happened at Ryan's house, but you didn't hear it from me.
After what happened last night, I still couldn't get it out of my head. All thanks to Kevin, I'm pretty sure I look crazy today because I'm wearing a sweatshirt in eighty degree weather to cover the hickeys on my neck.
I got a bunch of weird looks, but I just ignored them because I honestly don't care.
Kevin snuck a few glances my way, it was making me nervous and I really don't know why.
I continued to eat my salad as they started talking about some hard homework assignment, I wasn't really listening. As I was drinking my water, Mikaela decided to whisper something that threw me completely off guard. "The sexual tension between you guys is so obvious, even a blind guy can see it,"
I choked on my water.
I wish I could choke her.
"Mikaela, I thought we were done talking about this," I sighed, after I recovered from my choking fit.
"I'm sorry! I just had to say it," She replied. I rolled my eyes and finished my salad.
When I looked up I wish I never did because what I saw made me want to throw up my salad. Stella was on his lap and they were having a full on make out session.
"Can you guys maybe save this for a later date," Zach said, which made all of them laugh.
I would've laughed if the hole in my chest didn't expand, but unluckily it did.
Mikaela squeezed my hand under the table when she noticed the look on my face.
Maybe he doesn't like me after all.
As soon as the bell rang signaling that lunch is over, I rushed out of the cafeteria and made my way to my locker. I grabbed my chemistry textbook for my last period, and shut my locker to see Kevin standing right there.
"Woah, Kevin!" I shrieked in fear. Why can't he just make it known that he's standing behind me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
