•chapter 15•
Miranda's POV
Does he like me? Do I like him? Does he not wanna be my friend because he likes me?
All of these questions are still swarming through my head as I get ready for school.
I'm pretty nervous about facing Kevin. Is it gonna be awkward? Maybe I shouldn't over think it.
I pulled out a pair of white high waisted shorts, and paired it with a floral crop top. I slipped into my sandals and grabbed my phone off my nightstand.
It's a quarter to seven and I usually don't take long to get dressed but I'm doing this on purpose because I really don't want to go to school.
I think you guys can guess why.
I grabbed my backpack and trudged downstairs, when I sniffed the delicious smell of bacon.
I love my mom.
My legs steered me into the kitchen to see a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs waiting for me.
"Hey mom," I greeted before taking a seat and digging into my food.
"Hey sweetie, how was your sleep?" My mom asked.
I didn't get any.
"It was good, so how's the shop idea coming?" I asked after swallowing a piece of bacon.
"Oh my gosh, it's going great! I've talked to the workers and they also agree with my idea. But I want to have workers who make only coffee and other workers who only make the food," Mom explained.
"Oh well that's good, you don't even have to expand the space because the shop is already really big, right?" I asked.
That's what I love most about Krazy Coffee, it's huge, there's so much space to fill.
"Exactly! So now all I have to do is start hiring," my mom continued.
"That's good, mom I'm happy for you," I stated. The main reason we came here was to make sure that the shop was doing good so I'm glad it was worth it.
I finished my food and took a glance at my phone. It was 7:00 am.
"Okay, mom I'm gonna head out now, or else I'll be late, love you," I called out before grabbing my bag and running out of the door.
I hopped into my Lexus and immediately drove off. I hate being late to school.
In under ten minutes, I was pulling up to BHHS, there were a bunch of students still lounging in the parking lot which is a good sign because that means I'm not late.
I shut my car off and grabbed my bag before jumping out and locking the door. I saw my friends and Stella talking in there usual parking spot.
Kevin was there too. My mind was telling me to just keep walking or else it will be an awkward encounter.
My body was thinking otherwise.
"Hey, Miranda!" Kelly was the first to notice me. They all turned their heads in my direction and I gave a little wave. Stella's glaring session began. I'm starting to think that she is in fact jealous of me because every time I come around she makes sure that everyone knows that Kevin is hers.
Let's take now for instance, as soon as she saw me she brought Kevin's face down to her level and started vigorously kissing him.
"We're all going to my house after school, so you're welcome to come if you'd like," Ryan stated from beside me.
