•chapter 6•
Miranda's POV
I went home feeling good about where Kevin and I stand. Don't get me wrong, he's still an asshole but I'd rather talk to him then stay mad at him.
After realizing my mom was at the shop, I headed upstairs to my room and plopped down on my bed.
It was a medium-long day.
There was no homework today, because it's the first day. I could dance but I have little to no energy left to move.
Hey! Speaking of dance, I need to find the said dance team at the school and tryout. I wonder if the team is good? Do they do competitions? I sure hope so.
I decided on just playing some music from my playlist, so I plugged my phone into the speaker and put on a random song.
Don't let me down by the Chainsmokers ft Daya started spilling out from the speaker.
My body was telling me to dance, but my mind was telling me to just sit my ass down. Instead of doing any, I changed into a comfortable pair of shorts and a red tank top. The shorts were a little too short and tight, but oh well.
I automatically started doing little turns to the rythm of the song.
It's in my head.
Darling I hope, that you'll be here when I need you the most so don't let me don't let me don't let me down. Don't let me down, don't let me..And then the beat dropped and the dubstep part came. I turned to my right and peeked out of my window to already see Kevin watching me with a smile on his face. I turned off the music and opened my window.
"Kevin what are you doing?" I raised my voice. Who gave him the right to watch me dance, because I sure as hell didn't.
When he didn't reply I looked at his face but his eyes were already raking my body.
I was wearing short shorts and a tank top.
Well shit.
I grew self-conscious and wrapped my arms around my body. He finally met my eyes and cleared his throat. "Sorry, what did you say?" He asked, his cheeks were tinted pink.
Yep, I caught him red-handed.
"Do you have a stalker status or something," I asked, earning a laugh in reply.
"No, is it a crime to watch you dance?" He asked with a smile, as I dropped my arms to my side.
"Yes, wait no. I mean I don't know," I couldn't form an actual sentence because his smile was slowly making my knees go weak. His teeth were as white as snow. He laughed at me while my cheeks grew pink.
What I really would like to know is why he was staring at me? I remember Ryan saying something about him and Stella.
Aren't they dating?
He kept staring at me with an unknown expression on his face, and it was starting to make me blush.
"Uhmm, aren't you and Stella dating?" I blurted out. What? I couldn't keep it in.
That question seemed to snap him out of his trance. " What?! Stella and me? No we are not dating, I have no interest in her whatsoever!" He clarified.
Hearing those words made me smile on the inside. Wait what? Miranda just shut up.
"Okay, that's cool, I guess." I said. I didn't really know what to say.
"She hates you because of what you said at lunch today, but everyone else likes you." He smiled. To know that they all- minus Stella- like me made my insides warm. Who knew it would be this easy to make friends?
