The next day was Saturday, so I ended up spending the day on my phone and online, talking to all my friends from my old gym and filling them in on things in Texas. Also, I was waiting for the email about team placements, and praying I would be on Peyton's team.
We ended up having a heart-to-heart on the ride home from the gym yesterday. I explained to her how I kinda missed my old teammates, and how Jamie was constantly glaring at me in the gym. Peyton mentioned that Jamie was rude to newcomers, but usually wasn't that mean unless she really hated you.
That made me kind of sad, because I knew that I would have no shot of ever becoming friends with Jamie. And Peyton was Jamie's best friend, so it would only be a matter of time before both of them hated me, and possibly Matt too. I also explained how I thought Matt was pretty cute, and Peyton only smiled in reply.
"Everyone likes him," she had said. Did that mean that Jamie liked him too? Was that why she was mad at me?

A bleep came from my phone and I quickly checked the screen:
New email from Cheer Athletics
I unlocked my phone and nervously clicked on the email. There was a paragraph telling me about my team, and a little calendar attached with the dates of practices and upcoming competitions.
Congratulations! You have made Cheer Athletics Cheetahs! Your first practice is on the upcoming Tuesday, followed by another three hour practice on the Thursday of next week. Attached below is a calendar with all the upcoming practices, competitions, and events marked, and a list of teammates.
I scrolled down until I found the name I was looking for:
Peyton Mabry
But below her was the name:
Jamie Andries
What luck I had. Thankfully, Matt Smith was also on my team. Maybe we could get to know each other better and possibly, he could base for me! I clicked on my messages and quickly typed out a text to Peyton:
Cheetah girls, here we come! -S
I received a reply a moment later:
You know it! Be excited girl, we have a promising season ahead of us! -P
