Chapter 24

Matt grabbed my hands and put them on his shoulders. Then he wrapped his own arms around my waist and we danced together to our cheer music. I looked into my favorite blue eyes and Matt smiled. I leaned forward and pecked his lips. He blushed and then kissed me back.

When the song ended, Matt held my hands and we sat on his bed. We said nothing for a while, instead just gazed at each other in awe. Matt traced my cheek bones with his fingertips and I shivered at his touch. Then he angled my face towards his and planted a sweet and gentle kiss on my lips that made my body go weak.

"Matt... I've never said this to a guy before but... I think I love you."

Then Matt said, "I knew that I would love you since the moment you stepped into Cheer Athletics." Then he kissed me more passionately this time, and I ended up leaning on his chest. Time flew by and we fell asleep.

Beep.

My phone lit up on a table in the corner of the room and I yawned. Huh? Oh right, I was at Matt's. His arm was wrapped protectively around me and I was snuggled up against his warm body. His breathing was soft but deep, and I inched my hand over towards the table to check my phone.

My hand grazed it, and I pulled it forwards. Score. I unlocked it and saw that I had a text message from my Mom.

Where are you sweetie? Call me I'm worried! You were supposed to be home three hours ago! -Mom

Shit! I quickly typed a message back to my mom explaining how Matt had brought me back to his house and we had fallen asleep "watching a movie." She replied a moment later and said to be home soon.

I snuck a peek at Matt, and of course he was looking adorable. His shirt was yanked up a bit revealing his sculpted six-pack. I reached out to touch it then drew back- I couldn't wake him up now. He sighed and rolled over. I took the opportunity to tap on his shoulder and see if he was awake.

"Matty?" I asked carefully.

"Mhhm?" He mumbled, struggling to open his eyes.

"Babe we fell asleep." I tugged on his arm and he opened his eyes and sat up.

"Ah Jesus what time is it?" He checked his alarm clock and saw me looking at my phone. "Who are you texting?" He asked, looking confused.

"My mom wants me to come home now Matty." He sighed and fixed his shirt.

"I'll drop you off now then. I'm sorry we fell asleep." His eyes were big with regret and I squeezed his hand. He smiled and led me downstairs. He grabbed his car keys and we left the house to the four car garage Matt had parked in.

"Let's go babe."
