Chapter 22

Then he lifts my chin up and lightly brushes his lips across mine. I melt into his warm embrace, and I sit in his arms for the rest of the ride to the movie theater.

"We're here Sums," I open my eyes. Where am I? I see a bunch of seats and a ceiling and... Matt Smith? And then I remembered: I was on a date with Matt. But had I fallen asleep?

"Matt did I fall asleep?" He nodded and laughed. Ugh that was so embarrassing! Here we were, trying to have a nice romantic car ride, and I ruined it by falling asleep. Maybe Eliza, Peyton, and I shouldn't have stayed up so late last night!

The chauffeur opens the door and light floods my eyes. I block them and Matt laughs and helps me out of the car. We're finally here and I'm literally swooning. The place has these adorable red velvet chairs with gold trim and the whole theater is decorated to be old fashioned. There's an old popcorn machine in the corner with a line of people waiting in front of it. The screen is one of the wrap-around ones with all the special effects and lights.

Matt takes my hand and leads me over to two seats right in the middle of the theater and tells me he'll be right back. He appears a couple moments later with a jumbo sized bowl of popcorn for us to share and two candy bars.

"I hope you like Hershey's," he says, winking.

"They're my favorite!" I squeeze his hand and laugh. He chuckles and opens the chocolate bar. The lights dim and Matt squeezes my hand.

"Are you ready for this baby?" I nod and relax. I eventually snuggle into his shoulders and lean my head on them. He smells like chocolate and I breathe in his wonderful scent- never wanting to forget it.

Matt is honestly one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I've never even had a real boyfriend- kissing a kid for a dare doesn't count. Plus we were only playing spin the bottle. Without my amazing best friends, I would never have this amazing experience.
