I'm laying on my bed playing a game on my phone when it suddenly starts going off with a bunch of text messages. I see Peyton's name pop up on the screen, then Eliza's, then Matt's. My face forms into a smile and I'm ready to see what they're all so excited about. The first one is from Peyton:

Oh. My. God. ELIZA IS SWITCHING TO CHEER ATHLETICS!!! -Pey

The next one is from Matt:

Hey you know that girl you were with at the carnival? She's going to be on Cheetah's now. -Matt

And the last one is from Eliza herself:

Ah!! You're not going to believe it! I'M GOING TO BE ON CHEETAHS WITH YOU! Yay yay yay yay yay! -Liza<3.

I send a text back to Eliza practically jumping with joy. That means that me and my best friends will on be on the same team together and I will no longer have to compete against Eliza and her team! This was like a dream come true!

I send Peyton a quick text message:

My week has just gone from bad... To awesome! Yay so excited! -Sums

I pick up my phone and start a group message between me, Eliza, and Peyton asking them if they wanted to meet up at the Starbucks on the other block. They agree happily and we decide to meet in ten minutes.

I quickly go in the bathroom and touch up on my makeup and then slip my feet into the flats with the little bows on them that Eliza insisted I borrow. Then I grabbed my CA bag and threw a pair of lilac colored flip-flops inside and my wallet along with them.

I ran downstairs and told my mom the good news about Eliza's transfer. She gave me a huge hug and told me that she was very happy. Then I waved goodbye and climbed into my car to drive to Starbucks.

-----------------

"Hi what can I get you?"

"I'll have a double chocolately chip frappe please." I reach into my CA bag and search for my wallet.

"What size miss?"

"A grande." The bell rings and somebody walks through the door. I don't look to see who it is, but I can tell by the high pitched giggle that it's Peyton and Eliza laughing over some stupid joke.

I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy that Eliza and Peyton drove here together and didn't invite me with them. But then I remember that I was the one who invited them to Starbucks in the first.

"That'll be four thirty five." I hand the employee a five dollar bill and take a seat at a table for four in the corner- the same table Peyton, Jamie and I all sat at only a couple weeks before. Eliza and Peyton each buy a coffee and join me across the table.

"So I'm coming to Cheer Athletics!" Eliza squeals, Peyton joining in. I laugh nervously and take a sip from my drink.

"So why'd you decide to switch...?" I asked curiously, pressing for an answer.

"Peyton convinced me. I got the okay today though." I looked shocked. Of course I wanted Peyton and Eliza and I to all be best friends, but since when were she and Peyton so close?

"That's g-great," I forced myself to say, still zoned out on the conversation. Eliza began droning on an on about how her teammates were sad, but her coach was mad at everyone was emotional...

"I'm so sorry. I have to go." I stand up from my seat and leave Eliza and Peyton alone with a stunned expression on their face. I think to myself,

Maybe this was a horrible idea...
