Brendon sat down at the bar, which was luckily right by the door, so I didn't have to walk through the mass of weirdly dressed people.

A guy wearing make-up and too small and tight clothing came up to us and I immediately averted my eyes to the floor.

"Brendon! Good to see you again! It's been a while! Who's your friend?"

I dared to look up, but only at Brendon.

"Hey James. That's Ryan," he replied hesitantly, looking up at me unsurely.

I avoided his gaze and uncomfortably shifted in my seat when somebody tapped my shoulder from behind me.

After almost suffering from a heart attack, I gathered up enough courage to turn around.

I was confronted with a guy about my age, but this guy was fucking ripped and I swear he was at least twice as wide as I was.

He took the chair on the other side of me, leaning in closer to me, making me lean backwards, away from him.

"Hey handsome," he slurred, reaching out to touch my face.

I jerked my head back a little too fast, and toppled off the chair backwards, Brendon, of fucking course, catching me before I crashed onto the floor.

"Leave him alone," he snarled venomously, wrapping his arms around my chest as he pulled me closer, almost pulling me off the chair completely.

The other guy seemed taken aback by Brendon's sudden outburst and raised his hands in defense, quickly scurrying back into the crowd.

Feeling very thankful towards Brendon, which I would never admit, I pulled myself back up onto my chair again, my cheeks heating up as I realized how embarrassing this all must have just been.

"Have a drink," James suggested, sliding two glasses towards Brendon and me.

Skeptically, I surveyed the glasses. I hadn't ever touched one of them, not wanting to end up like my father.

However, I had also heard that it helped you forget things.

"C'mon," Brendon said, holding his glass up and then downing it in one go.

So I did, the liquor burning in my throat as I surpressed the urge to cough.

Other than that, it wasn't that bad.

And so when James filled my glass, I didn't hesitate to swallow the liquid again.

Soon, the world around me became blurry and I felt free.

"Wanna dance?" Brendon asked, and I giggled, taking his hand as we struggled to walk in a straight line over to the dancefloor.

After a few minutes of dancing, the dancing turned more and more into searching for body contact, so I pushed Brendon backwards and into the nearest wall, pressing my body against his and staring into his beautiful brown eyes, surveying his face closely, a pearl of sweat trickling down his forehead as he stared back at me. His heart pounded furiously against my chest and I was sure he could feel mine doing the same.

Then I attacked his lips, closing my eyes as all kinds of different colours exploded in my chest.

He kissed back immediately, his tongue swiping against my lips and I opened my mouth slightly, deepening the kiss.

He moaned against my mouth and I let my hands roam across his chest, pushing him further against the wall, desperate to be closer to him.

My heart skipped a beat as I felt one of his hands on my waist, the other tangling itself in my hair.
