Dan woke up to an ear screeching alarm clock. Dan looked at the alarm clock: 07:30.

Get ready for school Dan.

Dan sat on his bed shaking, four hours of sleep, which is more than he usually gets. He slowly walked to his bathroom where he looked in his cracked mirror. Which reminded him of the dream he had.

(He looked around. There were metal walls. Grey metal walls. No bed, no carpet, no tile, no windows. No doors. Just him and his cracked body mirror planted on the ground.)

The same dream, for over three months...

"Dan! Come down stairs! Breakfast is ready!" His mother called.

Dan mentally panicked. He was so hungry... it physically hurt. Pain constantly attacking his stomach.

'Maybe ' Dan thought. 'If I just had a piece of toast-'

Lift up your shirt and look down Dan.

Dan did. He looked down and saw fat. A lot of it, but the fat only existed inside his head.

You're fat Dan. You CAN NOT eat breakfast. No wonder no one likes you.

Dan nodded holding back tears in his eyes. He couldn't cry now. Now was not the time. There was never a good time to cry.

"Dan!" His mother called again sternly.

"I'll be down in a minute!" Dan answered.

"Your breakfast will be cold. Get down here!" She yelled a bit angrily.

Dan quickly looked at the bags under his eyes. They didn't look too bad today. Dan then walked down stairs to complete his mother's request. He swung his back pack around his chair and sat down. He nearly drooled all over his plate.

Eggs. Bacon. Pancakes. Sausage. All perfectly cooked. Too bad your too fat. If you didn't eat so much you could have this meal.

"What's the special occasion?" Dan asked his mum trying to ignore the voice.

"Oh nothing! Just needed to get rid of this stuff before it got spoiled and what not." Dan's mom said trying to sound convincing.

'She's planning something. '

Dan thought. He didn't worry about it right now though. He just looked at his food, the food that he wished to eat so badly, but couldn't. He wouldn't.

Dan's mom left the kitchen and Dan took his breakfast and slid it all into a plastic bag and stuffed it inside his backpack. He then put his plate in the sink.

"Dan? Are you feeling okay?"

("Dan. Are you sure you're okay?" His broken reflection taunted.

"I-I'm-" Dan shook. Sitting on his mirror that was on ground looking down.

'C'mon Dan. Choke out the words.'

"I- I'm f- fi-" He broke into sobs. His reflection laughed at him.

"Weak. Pathetic. What the hell is wrong with you? You can't even say two words!")

"DAN!" Dan's mom screamed.

"Hm-w- Yes ma'am?" Dan answered quickly.

"Are you actually deaf?"

"I just wasn't paying attention..." Dan mumbled. His mum didn't hear him (thankfully).

"What?"

"Nothing. Never mind. I got to go. I'll be late for school." Dan covered himself grabbing his back pack and heading out the door.

"Bye Dan." His mother told him cleaning the dishes. Not really paying attention herself.

"Bye mum." Dan whispered sadly shutting the door behind him.

See she doesn't care about you Dan! No one does.

Dan felt a tear slide down his cheek and quickly wiped it away, followed by the whisper:

"I know."
