Chapter Nine

Phil forced Dan into the car. Dan gave up and just let him.

"Dan... I noticed she had a lion on her." Brought up breaking the sad silence Dan was enjoying.

Fourty nine
One minute

Dan smiled remembering how happy he was at that moment, how thins hsnge oh so quickly.

"Yeah..." Dan responded.

"D-Do you want it?" Phil asked strectching his arm through the car window holding the lon. Dan looked at it.

He did. He really did. He wanted it to hold at night, to remember Emily by, but he had his love for her, Phil had nothing, just memories. "You keep it." Dan forced a smile. Dan saw the ends of Phil's lips twitch upward, almost a smile.

"Really?" Phill asked surprised.

"Yes." Dan insisted pushing the lion away from him and into Phil's arms.

"Thank you Dan."

"No problem Phil."

Dan got to his home.

"Thanks Phil..." Dan said.

Yeah.
Thanks for pushing me away from the only person I loved
That made me happy.

No. It was best. He would have never left. Besides they would take Emily away from him eventually....

"Anytime Dan. Did Emily tell you?" He asked shyly.

Dan thought. She told him a lot of thigs before- well. You know.

"About what?" Dan furrowed his eyebrows.

"Aboutbeingroomates." Phil slurred as he whisered. Dan took a moment to break down what he said.

"Oh! Yeah. Sure. It would be fun." Dan nodded his head agreeing.

"Okay. Wana look at places tomorrow?" Phil asked excitedly.

Tomorrow. Leave tomorrow. Go...

"No." Dan shook his head looking at the ground kicking small rocks o the road.

"Dan you can't just sit here and sulk all day." Phil reasoned stretching his arm out.

"I loved her." Dan whispered.

"I know." Phil stated. "Just try. Please Dan?" Phil begged.

"Maybe..." Dan trailed off.

Yep. If I'm not dead by tomorrow

"Great. See you tomorrow." Phil put his car in forward and started driving off.

"Wait! What time?!" Dan yelled.

"We'll see!" Phil yelled.

Dan felt his lips twitch.

Did Phil actually almost make him smile?
