*QUICK RE-CAP*
okay because the universe actually hates me I hit the publish button yesterday but as I said earlier the universe decided to to fk me over. So yeah sorry and here we go:~Okay if you've forgotten (bc I haven't updated in so long) Dan and Phil are at Starbucks, Dan is supposed to be in bed sleeping and go to school the next day but Dan decided to skip. Phil asks when they are going to start looking at apartments.~
Dan blinked at Phil.
"OH! I'M SO SORRY! THAT'S TOO SOON ISN'T DAN?? I'm SO SORRY. J-j-just forget it..." Phil trailed off feeling guilty and slightly embarrassed. But, the truth was, Dan didn't think it was too soon at all. Dan sat there feeling bad, he wanted so badly to move with Phil, his new friends? Maybe.
"No. Not at all." Dan replied. The words left his mouth before he knew what was going on. He wondered where all the courage came from.
Phil looked at him questionably, a little confused about what he meant. Which means Dan had to, not only repeat,as if that wasn't bad enough, but also then let it turn awkward.
"To look at apartments. Not too soon at all." Dan said quietly trying to cut out all the uneccessary words so he would've have to talk as much.
"Oh right." Phil mumbled. "You sure? She did just uh-well-" Phil's eyes watered, not being able to finish his sentence. He blinked ferociously to make them go away, but you can't push away feelings forever. Phil decided his internal melt down wasn't important. After all- Dan did literally had panic attack less than an hour ago. Plus Dan probably didn't care, no one really did. But that was okay, because that's how Phil liked it. Phil didn't have to worry about 'What if they found out?' and 'What would they say?' So really it didn't matter.
"Phil?" Dan grabbed Phil's attention with a worried look on his face.
'Well ship.'
"Hm?" Phil asked. The tears finally dried away.
"You looked like you were about t-"
"Yeah... My eyes get watery from-er- allergies." Really? Phil mentally face-palmed.
"Cry." Dan finished his original sentence. Phil gave him a quizzical look, Dan gave Phil a concentrated look. As if Dan was observing Phil, searching for something. An awkward silence fell.
Silence.
Silence is a sound isn't it? It's just the sound of no sound. Because there is no such thing as no noise. Because there is a sound for that:
Silence.Dan ran this process through his head. However he stopped half way, his brain getting twisted and confused by how deep and complicated the meaning of one word was. So he stopped.
Phil opened his mouth to say something, but was rudely interrupted by Dan's phone going off. Dan looked confused, and so did Phil. Dan checked the time quickly. Who could be calling him at 01:47 in the morning?
"Hello." dan answered waiting for a familiar voice to respond.
"DAN!" His mum sighed in relief.
"Oh hi mum. You're home from your vacation early." Dan responded so Phil would also know who it was. Dan saw Phil give a slight nod, but they both were still really confused.
"After I got the news- and Dan you weren't home-" Dan's mother paused. "Dan I thought- I thought you-" She choked on sobs.
I wish.
Dan thought. "Hey I'm okay." Dan responded calmly. He still heard his mother crying a little over the line. Until she, abruptly, stopped.
"DANIEL JAMES HOWELL IT IS A SCHOOL NIGHT AND WHETHER YOU DECIDE TO GO TO SCHOOL OR NOT YOU SHOULD TELL ME!" Dan moved his phone two inches away from his ear. He actually liked being able to hear (most of the time). Dan saw Phil trying his best not to laugh. Dan gave him a glare and Phil's smile spread.
