"I should've known. I should've seen the signs," Stoick mumbled angrily.

"... Dad," Hiccup called out as he sheepishly followed his father.

"We had a deal!" Stoick shouted, his back turned against his son.

"I know, but that was before I..." Hiccup tried to explain, but he knew Stoick wouldn't listen, "This is so messed up..."

"So everything in the ring... A trick!?" Stoick turned away, "... a lie?" He whispered to himself.

"I screwed up. I-I should've told you before now, but please; just don't hurt Toothless," Hiccup pleaded, the worry evident in his voice.

"The dragon? That's what you're worried about!?" Stoick scolded, turning around to face Hiccup again.

"He was just protecting me. He's not dangerous," Hiccup said defensively.

"They killed hundreds of us!" Stoick objected in fury.

"And we killed thousands of them!" Hiccup retorted, "They defend themselves, that's all!"

Stoick made a gesture of disbelief and began to pace back and forth, but Hiccup still tried to make him understand.

"They raid us because they have to. There's something on their island, dad,"

Stoick stopped and faced his stamerring son. "Their island?" Stoick repeated, "So you've been to the nest,"

"Did I say nest?" Hiccup muttered, averting his eyes while he backed away.

"How did you find it?" Stoick said sternly, trying to get more information out of the boy.

"I didn't. Toothless did. Only a dragon can find the island," Hiccup stated.

An idea played in Stoick's head and whatever it was, Hiccup did not like it. His eyes widened and began to panic.

"No, dad. No," he said, trying to convince his father. However, Stoick did not seem to falter.

"You don't know what you're up against. It's like nothing you've ever seen!" Hiccup stated, only to earn him a shove as Stoick started walking away.

"Dad. I swear, you can't win this one," Hiccup called out. He soon gave chase, "Dad, no. For once in your life, would you please just listen to me!" He shouted.

Hiccup took his father's arm in an effort to turn him around. In turn, Stoick shrugged him off. This caused Hiccup to fall on his back on the floor far from Stoick. The Viking chief stood by the doorstep and glared at his son.

"You put up with them. You're not a Viking," Stoick glared, "You're not my son," he left the Grand Hall, slamming the door behind him, "Ready the ships!" He shouted.

It's all over, Hiccup thought to himself. Stoick, on the other hand, dropped his fierce expression to be replaced by a heart broken and disappointed one. He stood for a second to gain composure. Once he did, he marched towards the harbor.

"I have just had enough of you, lass!" Elinor scolded. She brought Merida to their ship along with her brothers. Elinor was worried for Merida, but her worry was quickly replaced with fury.

"What!? You were the one that wants me t--"

"You embarrassed them. You embarrassed me!" Elinor cut Merida's words.

Merida groaned loudly, throwing her hands in the air. "This is so unfair!"

"Unfair?" Elinor scoffed.
