"Jack!" The voice continued to echo. The sound grew louder and louder as the Guardians neared its source.
The voice stopped as soon as the Guardians stepped foot into a certain part of the forest. There were no trees nor grass thriving in the area.
In the middle was an old wooden bed. It did not have a mattress and directly under it was a dark, deep hole in the ground.
"Jack!" The feminine voice echoed again.
"This must be where it's from," Bunny concluded, looking into the hole.
"Do we head down there?" Tooth asked, "It seems very dangerous,"
"Must be Pitch's lair," North stated.
"How can you tell?" Jack asked.
"... It's under a bed,"
"Oh yeah,"
"Do we go down there?" Tooth asked Jack.
Jack was surprised that the team's decision was on him. Then again, he's encoutered Pitch more than any of the other Guardians did.
"I will," Jack said with confidence.
The Guardians were shocked to hear it. "What?" They all exclaimed in unison.
"I'll go in there. Alone. You guys just keep cover for me," Jack stated firmly, "Pitch was using my memories to get us here. He must be looking for me,"
"Alright," North said. The other Guardians turn to him, "Go in there and find out Pitch's purpose. We'll be on guard," he unsheathed his two swords.
Jack nodded and swiftly jumped into the hole. He landed in a dark underground lair. Dim light helped Jack make out what was around. There were black cages similar to those in the Tooh Palace hanging from the ceiling. Jack held his staff defensively, ready to attack anything that gets in his way.
While roaming, he found a Globe similar to the one in the Workshop, only smaller. There were three, differently-colored lights on it. The lights were somewhat close to each other. One was red, one was green and one was yellow.
As Jack approached the Globe, he was pushed backwards by a wave of black sand. Suddenly, it was extremely dark and quiet.
Jack could not hear or see anything. He groped around his surroundings in an effort to figure out where he was.
"Looking for these?" An eerie voice echoed in the dark halls.
The same three lights appeared, but now they were floating around him.
"Who are you?" Jack shouted.
"I'm a bit hurt. I thought you would already know," the voice chuckled.
Pitch Black.
"Where am I? Let me out of here," Jack growled.
"Barging into people's lairs is a rude gesture, Frost. Meddling with other people's plans is also an improper action," Pitch said, "Learn that all actions have consequences,"
The three orbs glowed so bright they were blinding. As soon as their light faded, so did they. And Jack was back to where he began; in front of the Globe. Only this time, Pitch was there.
"I'm not afraid of you," Jack said firmly.
"Oh sure. But you are afraid of something," Pitch said in a sly tone, walking around Jack.
"How do you know?" Jack gripped on his staff.
"It's the one thing I always know... people's greatest fears," Pitch paused, "Yours is that no one will ever believe in you,"
