Jack got out of the lair safely. However, when he was back on the surface, it was already night time.
"What took ya so long, kid?" Bunny asked.
"I... I thought I was only gone for an hour..." Jack muttered. He shook his head and remembered what he had to tell the Guardians.
"That's not the point. I saw something in there," he said and began to tell them about what he saw underground.
"So Pitch has them after all," Tooth concluded, "But where are they?"
"Hiccup said we'll meet him at his cottage. Not sure about Rapunzel and Merida," Jack stated.
"Lead the way again, then," North said.
Jack nodded. He immediately jumped high into the sky and flew around to see where Hiccup's cottage was. As soon as he spotted it, he swooped back down to the Guardians.
"This way," he gestured to the direction he went. The Guardians followed him.
As soon as they arrived at the cottage, they saw that the door was still locked. Jack knocked on the door several times and there was no response.
"... Is something the matter?" Tooth asked him.
"I don't think he's here," Jack looked into the windows of the cottage. There was a lamp, but it was not lit so the inside was very dark.
"What do we do now...?" Bunny muttered, crossing his arms.
"I--" Jack paused as they heard some incoming noises. Rustling through the forest and constant murmuring, light shining from the distant part of the forest... looks like a crowd was coming in.
The Guardians hid. Tooth hid high above the trees, Bunny hid underground, and North and Jack hid behind the trees.
A crowd of Vikings came around with their torches. They all tried to get into the cottage, but the door was locked, so they all left immediately.
As soon as they were out of sight, the Guardians went out of hiding. Bunny decided to crack a joke.
"Why'd you hide?" He said to Jack, "They wouldn't have seen you anyway," Bunny laughed.
Tooth lightly slapped his arms with the back of her hand. Jack gave him an unamused look and with a flick of his staff, frost shot out and struck Bunny's face. "Ow!" He groaned.
"Back to the topic," Jack cleared his throat, "Do you think the Vikings are looking for Hiccup, too? I mean, he's technically a Viking," he said.
Silence took over for a few minutes as the Guardians thought over the events. Jack walked a few steps farther from the group. For some reason, he thought of going to the village and checking if Hiccup was there.
"Maybe I should go and check if Hiccup is in his village," Jack said.
"Are you sure?" North asked.
"Sure," Jack nodded, "And if you're worried people will find me, they won't. Bunny knows what I'm talking about," he said. Bunny looked at him, unamused. Jack just chuckled and flew off.
Jack spotted the village from the sky. It was obvious, really. Among the dark forest, it was the only place near the ocean with fire lighting up the area. Jack swooped down and he landed at the edge of town. He took a breathe in and a breathe out. There was a possibility all these people were just gonna pass through him. No matter how often it happened, he still could not get over it.
Jack stepped forward and looked around town. He did his best to avoid the people, but some of them still passed through him.
"Guess ge's not wandering around town..." Jack concluded. He stopped for a moment to think. He decided to see where Hiccup lives.
