Chapter 19

[Ross' P.O.V]

''You see Harry, there?'' I say grimly and Mai turns around to his direction before turning back to me. 

''What about him?'' She says.

''Wow, you don't know?'' I try my hardest to lie. I've learnt in the past that questions like these make people believe you more.

''I don't know what you're talking about.'' She furrows her eyebrows in confusion, rubbing her temple.

''He's always had a thing for you, you know.'' I get closer to her, making sure Harry and Alexis don't pick up what we're saying. They seem to be glancing over at us every few seconds. Her eyes widen in disbelief.

''No-no way, he's going out with Alexis.'' She tries to convince herself.

''Yeah, he is.'' I confirm. ''But I'm his brother, he always tells me he fancies you. No matter how much he denies it, he's using Alexis to get closer to you.''

''I know Harry-he wouldn't, no.'' She keeps shaking her head, her pretty face still in confusion. 

''If you think you know Harry, what can I say? I live with him.'' I smartly remark leaving her in silence. 

''So, my point, is that me being the amazing friend that I am-'' I start and she cringes a bit. ''Want to help you get his attention.''

''Yeah um, I appreciate that, Ross.'' She lightly smiles, glancing over at Harry again. 

''Anytime.'' I smile at her. I have just added the fuel to the fire. 

''You know, I've always liked Harry too. And- I-I've always been scared to tell him and Alexis sort of stole him?'' Her statement sounds like a question. Great. This is even better, she likes him so there will be more action.

''Aw,'' I put my hand on my heart sweetly. ''Cute love traingle.'' 

She waves and walks back to the table, her attitude completely changing. Harry is going to be pissed, I love it.

[Alexis' P.O.V]

It's been a couple of days since Mai has been acting weird, I don't understand it. Curiousty is getting the best out of me and I'm going over to talk to Ross. I hope Harry isn't there because I'm 100% sure if he finds out he will flip out. 

I ring the door bell, and surprise surprise, Harry answers.

''Hi babe.'' He warmly smiles and hugs me tight. 

''Hey.'' I smile. Now what can I tell him? I can't just say 'Oh, I came here for your brother that I've promised you I wouldn't talk to.'

''Do you want to come in?'' He offers, stepping aside. 

''Im okay,'' I say, think quick Alexis. Think quick. ''I just came to say..um, I love you.''

It wasn't false though, and I finally got to say it. It was the first time I've ever said it to anyone. There was never a right time I could say it, there's always something to distract us. It took him by surprise and a large grin apears on his face, crashing his lips onto mine. It's amazing how much emotion you can feel in such a simple touch. Nothing could describe the feelings roaming through my body. I have finally found the missing puzzle in my life.

''You'll know that I love you, too.'' His words trigger the butterflies in my stomach all over again. 

[Mai's P.O.V]

It's freezing, I literally can't feel my fingers and I try to warm them up by rubbing my hands together. I walk down the road, looking at the paper with the adress Ross gave me to his house. Tonight is the night I finally tell Harry to stop hiding his feelings for me. I can finally tell him how I feel, too. That way nobody is pretending. 

I look up to the house and see two people at the doorstep, kissing. I look closer behind the tree in realisation that it was Alexis and Harry. My heart sort of broke in that moment, if Harry really did 'use' Alexis, the kiss wouldn't be that passionate. Damn you Harry and the feelings you make me feel. I wait for Alexis to walk back into her house and text Ross.

''Come outside, now.'' I send.

This trip was going to be me talking to Harry but it instantly changed to me talking to Ross. A few moments pass and the door clicks open, Ross walking out. He wasn't wearing his glasses and was squinting to try and find me.

''I'm right in front of you.'' I state. ''Is your eyesight really that bad?''

Ross chuckles nervously. 

''Yeah I knew that. Anyway, why did you call me?'' He asks, innocently. 

''Well- you said Harry likes me.'' I hoped the statement would explain itself.

''He does!'' He says defensively. 

''I just saw him and Alexis kissing!'' I almost yell, then realise im outside and either of them can hear me. 

''Oh, that.'' Ross says, laughing.

''Why are you laughing?'' I snap. This wasn't a funny matter. 

''He does that all the time, to you know, try and get the girl to think that he likes her.'' He was still laughing. 

''That's..player-ish, don't you think?'' I couldn't help but think that. I like him, but that's not right. I admit I feel at least slightly guilty for Alexis, she is my friend at the end of the day. 

''Yep, It is.'' He nods. ''But that's another sign that he likes you.'' His words make me a bit more relieved. 

''Oh.'' I smile. ''Well, do you think I could..tell him about this tonight? Like now?'' 

''N-no, I um, don't think that'd be a g-good idea. At all. No.'' He stutters, shaking his head. 

''Well why not?'' I was genuinely curious.

''I think you need to..wait longer to look for anymore signs, you know?'' He scratches the back of his head.

''True.'' I shrug. ''Well, see you around!''

He smiles weakly and I go in for a hug.

''W-what was th-that for?'' He weakly smiles.

''For helping me.'' I say and his eyes lower a bit. I don't know why my words are upsetting him, he should be glad. I think I might be the first girl to ever hug him.

''It's alright.'' He replies. I have to get home now, Alexis could just look out of her window and I'll be there, full display, talking to Ross.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Ellie's birthday party. You know? Ellie, the popular girl at school. She invited Harry as well and it's my perfect opportunity to tell Harry how I feel. We can finally be together and boom, happy ever after. I'm just not sure Alexis will take it well. 

I'll be there to comfort her with chocolate and movies if she wants. Heartbreak is a terrible, terrible thing. 

DRAMA IS BUILDING UP.
