Chapter 25: The Missile and The Portal

❝Tony. You might not come back❞

---------------------------------------------

"Someone needs to shut that damn portal or no one is going to make it out alive." I yell into my mouthpiece.

"Wow. Optimistic." Clint glances over at me.

"Shut up. I'm tired and hungry. Saving the world is too much work. I'm down for some Popeyes." I say out loud.

"You eat Popeyes?" Clint asks.

"Don't say anything negative about my Popeyes or we can't be friends." I glare at him, and point my bow in his direction.

"Easy." Clint raises his hands above his head, "I just didn't take you for a fish person."

"Um, chicken and biscuits are my favorite." I rolled my eyes at him and then leaned down off the building as I saw my sister grab onto a flying chariot, "What in the world is my sister thinking, doing that alone."

I continue to watch as she jumps on top of a rider and sticks a knife in his neck repeatedly until he dies. My eyes widen, as he tumbles off of the chariot, "Okay. She can handle it."

I look at Clint who has his eyes narrowed at something and then he says something into his mouthpiece. I kneel down on the edge of the roof, "Do you think I can land on that chariot without dying?"

Clint looks over, "What are you talking about?" he looks down at a chariot that is next to Natasha's and then meets my eyes, "I wouldn't advise it, Anya."

"Just what I thought." I smile and straighten back up before turning around so my back is to the edge and I smirk at Clint, "Too bad, I'm not listening to you." I attach my bow to my back and then spread my arms out and fall backwards off of the ledge.

I hear Clint screaming my name as I plummet to the ground and then I hear a crackle in my earpiece.

"Anya. What are you doing?" Tony's voice comes in, "I can't get to you in time."

"I'm okay Stark. Focus on whatever you are doing." I smile and press on my mouthpiece, turning it off and I curl into a ball before landing on the chariot with Loki on it who is firing at Natasha's. I smirk and face him, "Nice to see you again."

"I should have killed you when I had the chance." Loki sneers.

"Don't sneer, it ruins your features." I point my hand at him and send a stream of ice at him but he blocks it with his staff.

"You'll have to do better than that." Loki sneers.

I glare at him before sending a punch towards his face which he deflects. I jump onto his back and press him down to the floor before flipping myself over his head but as soon as I regain my footing, Loki smacks me with his staff. I groan as I'm thrown to the other end of the chariot. I press a hand to my stomach which feels terribly bruised and am glad to find that there is no blood. I sneer at Loki and stagger to my feet. Right as I do, Loki veers the chariot to one side and follows Natasha.

I watch as an arrow flies towards Loki but Loki just smirks and grabs it. I gasp but then the arrow explodes in Loki's face, sending him backwards and he knocks me off my feet again. I push Loki off of me with a groan as I see Natasha landing neatly on the edge of the Stark Tower. I groan with pain and push myself to my feet, stumbling away from Loki as the Hulk comes towards him. I start jogging to the nearest building and pull the door open before running to the elevator and pressing the button. When it fails to come, I throw open the stairwell door and start running up the many flights of stairs.

When I reach the top, I am slightly winded and I have to bend over for a minute before I race to the edge and try to measure the distance to the other side. I then take a couple steps back and take a flying leap to the other side. I crash down on the other side, tucking my head under as I roll.

I stand up and smile as I do the same until I get to the Stark Tower and I look at my sister and nod, "You trying to shut it down?"

"We need Loki's scepter." Natasha tells me and looks right at me before looking down.

Selvig leans over as well, "And we're looking right at it."

"Thank god. I thought I was actually going to have to fight Loki for it." I smirk at my sister before heading to the stairs and then grabbing the scepter. I ran back up the stairs and handed it to Natasha before standing to the side.

Natasha points the scepter at the forcefield and slowly begins pushing it, making the forcefield slowly disappear until she is almost at the Tesseract.

"We can close down the portal." I turn on my mouthpiece and speak into it, "Can you hear me? We can close it down."

"Do it!" Steve says back.

Tony's voice then crackles in, "No, Wait."

"Tony. We need to do this." I tell him.

"Stark, these things are still coming! We can't fight all of them." Steve says back, sounding agitated.

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it." Tony responds.

I bite my lip and glance at Natasha who looks worried.

"Tony. You might not come back." I whisper into the mouthpiece.

"I know, darling. But I have to." I hear Tony, "Don't cry for me, darling. Please."

"Alright." I whisper back and turn away from my sister, a tear falling down my cheek as I watch Tony head for the portal.

A/N

YAY! Almost done with this book.

I really enjoyed writing this chapter though Anya was a little sad at the end. And there was some Clint and Anya banter.

Okay. Ship name. I need a ship name for Clint and Anya.

Anyways, see you all soon for another update! Oh and don't forget to vote and comment.

Hugs and Kisses.
