*** Flashback to Sunshine Institute***

It's been raining all week. I hate rain.
I feel like thunder only happens when it's raining and players only love you when they're playing.

It's been 4 freaking months since I've been stuck in this stupid place.

Today is Friday. Usually back at home I would be at a party getting drunk on random drinks at some lame high school party. Friday's useto be a day to forget for me. But now they are just a painful reminder.

It's 2pm and we have free time for the rest of the day until lights out.

I really need to forget right now. I've been sitting in my room for an hour and my thoughts are destroying me.

Feeling rather bold I decide to walk over to Joel's room.

Joel has his own room because he is the oldest. He is soooo lucky.

We are actually not allowed to enter other rooms but I just need an escape and I don't want to be surrounded by stupid doctors and mental people. I know that sounds mean but whoever said I was nice?

Since we aren't allowed to have locks on our doors I just walk into Joel's room.

The first thing I see is that he's wearing no shirt.

And holy cow let me tell you it is a sight I could stare at for hours.

His eyes are closed and he is laying on his bed wearing some grey sweatpants.

I wonder what he is thinking right now. Oh what it would be like to be in the brain of Joel. I feel like I know nothing about him but he knows everything about me.

I climb up on his bed and lay right next to him being careful to put just a little distance between us.

Joel suddenly opens his eyes and turns to look at me with a smirk on his face.

"You know you're not supposed to be in here right?" Joel asks teasingly.

"You know I don't play by the rules right?" I say teasing him right back.

Joel grabs my hand and laces his fingers with mine. My heart flutters at his touch. But I have to remind myself that Joel can't possibly like crazy me. He knows too much.

But I want so desperately to forget so I'll take what I can get from him. I squeeze his hand tight.

"Joel lets play a game" I say randomly.

"What kind of game Janey doll?" Joel says pulling me closer to him.

I hate how he's so touchy but yet not enough.

"Twenty questions" I say.

"You know how I feel Jane.." Joel says sadly.

"Joel you know some of my deepest secrets the least you can do is tell me the name of your first pet or your favorite color" I say feeling annoyed.

"For one I never had a pet and two who actually has a favorite color? Aren't they all just plain colors? Why would someone have a favorite?" Joel says.

"Aw you never had a pet? How could a boy be so deprived from the wonderful things in life" I say dramatically "and everyone has a favorite color silly, for instance mine is black, just like my soul." I say dead seriously.
