It was 5:30 in the afternoon and Joey was in his room watching ABC family. It was Christmas Eve and they were playing a non stop Christmas movies. Joeys phone began to buzz and he knew who it was, Darren. He muted his tv and grabbed his phone and answered the call.

"Hello." Joey said when he flipped open his phone.

"I can't do it." Darren said in the other end if the phone.

"Yes you can." Joey said trying to boost his friends confidence.

"But it's going to be weird, like oh honey hey were watching a movie will you marry me?" Darren said panicking.

"Then do something else. Sing her a song, you always feel most comfortable when your performing."

"Yea I can do that, but what do I sing?"

"I can't answer that for you. But you can do this."

"I can do this." Darren repeated then hung up the phone. Joey shook his head at Darren and tossed his phone beside him. Joey un muted the tv and continued watch.

Hours had passed and Joey had passed out. Joey woke up with a jump. He looked at his clock on his night stand, 7:40. Darren hadn't proposed because the movie they were going to watch didn't start untill eight, but he could only guess that Darren was nervous.

Joey got up and went down stairs to grab something to eat. "Hey buddy." His mom called from the couch.

"Hey." Joey said then walked in the kitchen and grabbed a bag of chips and came back out. "What are you guys doing?"

"Just looking at the tree all lit up." His dad said with one arm around his wife.

"Come sit with us." His mom said and patted the spot on the couch beside her. "So Darren and Lauren, what's going on with them?" His mom asked as he sat down.

"Well you know she's pregnant, and he's proposing, tonight." Joey told them.

"Wow, there just kids it seams like." Joeys dad said and shook his head. "I remember when I proposed to your mom." He said with a chuckle, and his mom laughed to.

"Well I don't think I've heard this story." Joey said.

"I was nervous, so scared. I planned on doing it during dinner at this really fancy restaurant, but this other man was proposing as well, and I chickened out." His dad told him.

"So we went on a walk, and he stopped and started to rambling like a fool and them he got down in one knee and proposed. I said yes, obviously, but your dad's hands were shaking and he dropped the ring in the grass. It was dark and neither of us could see." His mom said with a chuckle.

"And then the worst happened." His dad picked up. "It started to pour. We were still searching around for the ring, and once we're were nice and soaked we finally found it."

"And I haven't taken it off since." His mom finished with a smile. Joey smiled at his parents, he loved them so much, and missed them so much while he was away. Joeys phone began to ring. It was Darren. He flipped it opened and answered.

"Hello." He said. He could hear the high pitch squealed of Laura coming from the other side of the phone.

"She said yes! She said yes!" Darren said excitedly, and before Joey could say congratulations the line went dead.

"So what's the verdict?" His dad asked with a smile.

"Lauren said yes, there getting married." Joey said with a chuckle.

"Awe, I'm so happy for them." Joeys mom said. Joey smiled at his parents and and went up to his room to go to sleep.

Joey woke up the next morning almost hoping to see snow, but then he quickly remember he lived in California. The smell of pancakes filled his nose and he quickly got uo and hurried down stairs.

"Good morning!" His dad said chipper as Joey quickly grabbed a plated and stood beside him. The island in the kitchen was turned into a bar full of goodies to cover your pancakes with. There was syrup, fruit, whip cream, chocolate chips, and m&m's. This was definitely Joeys favorite part of Christmas.

Once his pancakes were fixed just like he liked them he went and sat down at the tabel woth his parents. They tale about what they were going to do that day, they didn't really have that much planed just go to the annual Crissmas Party. Joey hated that that's what Darrens family called there Christmas party.

Once they finished eating they made there way to the living room where they opened presents. Joey ended up with some jackets, movies, and videos games.

"Okay, Joey we are going to leave in about an hour, so go get ready." His mom told him as he was standing up. Joey gathered his things and went to his room and picked out something to wear. Joey decided on a nice red button up and a pair of khakis.

Once he was finished getting ready it was about one o'clock. Joey ran down the stairs of his house to meet with his parents.

"Let's go to this Crissmas party." His dad said.

"Dad, please don't say that, your letting them win when you do." Joey said as they made there way out the door. His parents chuckled and they got in the car in left.
