Keith sighed.
It had been a rough couple days, and he was looking down at the source of it all. Lance. He wanted to strangle him. The Blue Paladin had locked him up, toyed with him as if he were a plaything, had his reputation tainted, and he had vomited on him. Not to mention Keith was still without trousers.
But as much as he hated the guy, he was a paladin and those were kinda hard to come by, as much as he wanted to suffocate him with his own pillow.
Keith wished someone else was there. Preferably a doctor. But he couldn't leave him alone, not with him falling asleep and the head wound.
"Roll over onto your stomach, I want to see your head," Keith ordered.
"My head?" Lance brought his hand away from his head. He looked down at the bloodstained cloth he held in his hand as if he couldn't figure out how it got there.
"Lance! Focus!" Keith prompted, pushing him over as he bent down to look. The blood mixed into his dark hair made it difficult to see. He looked up to the summer night sky plastered on the ceiling.
"Is this underwear?" Lance asked as Keith stepped on to the bed and wrenched Saggitarious' arrowhead from its place in the sky. Nash, was it called?
"Yes," Keith answered as he bent over the wound again, shining the light from the firestone down at it. The cut itself was hard to gauge, it was bleeding so hard. The area around it began to swell to an alarming size. He poked at it. "Does that hurt?"
"Yeah. I think I hit my head there. Why am I holding underwear?" Lance wanted to know.
He might have a fracture.
"Because it's clean," he took his underwear back and pressed it against his head, more gently this time. First of all he needed to stop the bleeding, but he didn't want to put too much stress on the fracture.
"Keith?" Lance whimpered.
"What? Did I push too hard?"
Lance started to shake his head, then thought better of it. "I'm in bed."
"Yes?"
"I was holding underwear that's not mine and you don't have pants..."
Of course they are mine, he thought. At least he can put two things together, maybe he's alright after all.
"Did I...?" he drifted off.
"Did you what?" he asked loudly, afraid he might have closed his eyes.
"Did we, like, you know, do it," he hinted increasingly distressed.
"Do what!?" he pressed.
"Sex."
Keith was not expecting that. Somehow, yet again, Lance had managed to slip around his defenses and hit him when he least expected it. By the time he recovered his usually guarded expression was completely forsaken as he tried to stammer out a response. "Uh..."
"Oh no," Lance lamented into his pillow. Keith thought back to when he had sat on it when he had been locked in and wondered when was the last time Lance washed it.
"Lance. No. That...no. It didn't happen." This was bad. Did Lance know? Lance, the most clueless one on board, did he know? If he knew, then who else did? Who was he kidding, they all knew.
But Lance was inconsolable. "Who topped?"
"Lance! Nothing happened!" Keith shouted, causing Lance to clutch his ears in pain.
He was startled by a noise at the door. Keith realized in horror that Hunk was entering.
"Hey guys! Everything's fine, just a reboot. Anyway, Shiro sent me to check on—ooh..." Hunk took in the scene.
Lance was lying on his stomach on the bed, clearly either upset, in pain, or both. Keith was half naked, covered in something fowl-smelling and leaning over him.
"Oh my, I'm so so sorry! You know what? I'm gonna go now. I'll tell Shiro you guys are fine. Well, that is if you guys are fine. Lance doesn't look so fine. Lance, are you fine?" Hunk blubbered on as he backed out of the room.
"You know it!" he answered in a cocky voice. Keith was too preoccupied to notice Lance's sounded almost normal.
"Hunk, it's not what it looks like! I was still in the shower when Lance came to get me but then he tripped and hit his head and I think he has a concussion!" Keith rushed to explain.
Hunk grew concerned immediately. "Oh no. Okay, I've got this. You get Shiro and the others."
"Right!" Keith dashed out the door.
"Keith, your pants."
Oh, right.
