Mitch
I looked up at the tall, fancy buildings in the city. Many ponies, mostly unicorns, bustle the streets. "It's like Power Move City," Jerome murmured.
Everyone split up into their groups. I went to go stand by Adam and Rarity. Rarity's horn glowed as she began to pull Adam's amulet off his neck. "If I may, dear?" she asked. "Um, sure," Adam said, and she pulled of the necklace and put it around her own neck.
"Hmm..." she pondered. She stared down at the gem, then slowly walked around in a circle. She stopped, then held up the amulet. "Its...its force seems to be weakening the closer we get," she explained. "It's hard to tell where it's pointing now, but..." she hesitated, then let the amulet fall back down against her chest. "It seems to be pointing up," she said.
Everyone looked up as if they expected a giant black hole to appear in the sky to take us back home.
Rarity facehoofed.
"It's just at a higher elevation than this," she explained.
"Maybe it's in a tall building?" Ty guessed. Twilight nodded. "Okay, so we'll just have to check high-up places. Meet back here in an hour," she told everyone.
All the teams split up, but our team still stood in the center. Rarity was frowning at the gem.
"Uh, are you okay there?" I asked her. Her head snapped up. "Oh! Yes, it's just this gem is becoming so hard to read..." Adam looked around. "Well, we should start looking," he said. Rarity nodded, and we headed off in a different direction from the other teams.
"How about that one?" I called as we walked theough the busy streets. There was a large building with a round roof and a large teloscope coming out the top.
"Oh, that's the exploratory," Rarity said. "This is where Twilight stayed when she lived in canterlot. No one lives here, though the citizens are allowed to come in and look for books on all that stars and planets stuff." she led us inside.
The building was almost empty, except for two or three ponies looking through books on massive shelves. On one side of the building was a large glass window that was probably easy to see stars through at night.
"Let's try to get to as much as to the top as we can," Rarity told us. We climbed the stairs to the top floor, where the large teloscope was. It was useless at day.
Cluttered papers lay on desks around the room. There were some shelves of books in the back (I was just thinking we needed more books in this place!) and a large hourglass.
As I passed by the hourglass, a glint caught my eye. I walked up to it, but I saw nothing but the sand inside.
Suddenly, an image of a minecraft steve covered in blood with glowing white eyes flashed in the reflection.
I jumped back. "OH, GOD! HEROBRINE!" I yelled. My wings started flapping uncontrollably in panic.
"Mitch, what the-" Adam yelled, but I couldn't stop my wings. I crashed all around the room uncontrollably while Adam and Rarity ducked for cover until I flew straight up and out of the roof through the gap between the teloscope and the large square hole for the teloscope to fit through.
Once I was outside, I tried to control my wings and fly back to the observatory, but the wind pushed me around like a team ping-ponging me in a Hunger Games match.
I flapped helplessly as I was pushed left and right. "OH, GOD!" I cried just as I crashed through the window in a nearby tower.
I landed on a soft rug and groaned. My wings finally had stopped flapping around like crazy. I could feel my face and wings stinging from shards of glass.
I got up and looked around.
I was in a large room with dark blue walls. A fireplace lay in one corner, in the other a large bed with scrolls, quills and ink next to it. In the corner, I saw two strange-looking ponies.
One was a large white alicorn with wavy green, pink, blue and purple hair. The other was a tall jet black pony with purple mist surrounding it. It reminded me of an Enderman.
Wait...was that an enderman pony?
The enderpony was standing over the alicorn. Her eyes were wide and unmoving as she stared into its eyes. She seemed to be in a trance.
The enderpony whipped around and looked over at me. I instantly looked down at its hooves to prevent from falling in the trance, too. The alicorn collapsed as soon as the enderpony looked away.
The enderpony growled at me, and I swiftly pulled out Betty from under my checkered jacket.
(Yeah, I had taken Betty from Jerome on the train and he still hadn't noticed. It was going to be the best troll when he realized it was missing...)
I charged at the enderpony with Betty's handle in my teeth. It snarled and charged at me. Pain shot through my body as it hit me. but I got a few chops on it with Betty and it snarled at me. I closed in for the kill, chopping as fast as I could. The enderpony hit me another time and greater pain spread through my body, then it teleported away.
I stood there, panting, still bleeding fron the shards of glass still puncturing me. The enderpony hadn't left any visible wounds, but I ached all over. I tucked Betty away and looked over at the alicorn. She had risen to her hooves, but still looked weary. Her eyes were wide. "Who are you? Do you know what that was?" she demanded. "I'm Mitch..." I croaked out, then fainted on the floor before I could finish.
