Chapter Two
Zoe's POV:
I pulled my long blonde hair into a high ponytail, and zipped up my hoodie.
"Honesty! Come on!" I yelled to the back of the house.
"Coming!" The little girl yelled with a more than slight British accent from growing up here, running to me. When she came, I realized her brunette braid had gotten messed up.
"Silly girl, come here." I kneeled down, and gently took the hair tie out her hair, and redid the simple braid.
"Where are you going?" My Mom asked, looking us over.
"I gotta go to the grocery store. I don't wanna leave her here again, I know you've gotta finish that project up. I'll be back in an hour or two." I tied her hair up, and stood up. I gave my Mom a peck on the cheek, and smiled while I pulled the door open.
"C'mon, squirt." I said, leading her out by her little hand.
"You're a squirt!" She teased back. I stuck my tongue out at her, and picked her up to place her in her car seat.
I buckled her in, and checked to make sure it was secure.
"Let's go, senorita!" I exclaimed as I got in the driver's seat, and buckled up.
As we backed out the driveway, I looked at her, smiling.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!" She squealed until we were in the street. I giggled a bit, and concentrated on the road.
Soon enough, we pulled into the parking lot. I chose the first available spot, and unbuckled. I shoved my keys in my pockets as I stood up, and opened the blue mini van's door.
I unbuckled Honesty, and held her hand as we walked to the building.
A rush of warm air surrounded us as the door slid open. I grabbed a shopping cart, and made sure Honesty knew not to walk away from me.
"I'll hold onto the buggy!" She suggested. I nodded, and put a box into the cart.
"What do you want for dinner, Lou?" I asked. I called her Lou sometimes, because her middle name is Louise.
"Mac n Cheese!" She squealed. I giggled.
"We just had that last night, love bug." I pointed out. Her four year old shoulders slumped, and I stifled a laugh.
"How about, we have hamburgers, cooked by Uncle Sebastian, and we have Mac n Cheese as a side?" I offered.
"Deal!" She giggled as she put two boxes of the pasta in the cart. We made our way to the meat isle to pick out the hamburger, when I saw something shocking.
I stopped dead in my tracks, and my mouth dropped open a little.
A few hundred feet from me, stood a boy I remember all too well. He wore a gray beanie, and sunshades. As if that would hide his identity. His Mother was also clung to his side. I saw her look up from a can, and her eyes locked with mine. Her lips tugged into a smirk, and she winked at me.
I sucked in a deep breath of air, and turned the cart around quickly. I didn't need that today. The meat could wait five minutes. What was Louis Tomlinson doing in London? I wonder how fast it's possible for me to move back to Doncaster. Or maybe Sebastian's extra beach house in Brighton.
I grabbed a bag of Salad mix and a bottle of my favorite dressing, and looked at the little girl in front of the cart, giggling to herself as she made puppets with her small hands. I cracked a smile, and continued shopping.
