A/N So I just finished this chapter and decided to post it. It's a little shorter than what I had planned, but definetly has some surprises. :) Please Vote/Comment/Share
David's POV :)
I left Giovanna to sleep when I heard the doorbell ring.
"That's weird," I muttered.
I cautiously opened the door not knowing what to expect. There in front of me, was a guy that looked around seventeen. He had short blonde hair and icy blue eyes. His lips were blue and his face was a deathly pale. He was being supported by a girl that looked identical to him. Although her lips weren't blue, she was very pale.
"Please help him," she croaked out.
I was shocked causing my brain to blank out. The guy started coughing, catching my attention. I instantly went to his side and helped her carry him inside.
"I'm going to help you guys okay? Linda!"
Linda walked in calmly, but her eyes widened in shock when she saw the two strangers.
"Oh my gosh! What happened? We need to get you guys warmer. Quickly. Follow me."
I looked over to the girl and said, "It'll be easier if I just carry him. Is that okay with you?"
She looked fragile and scared. Her blonde hair was curly and long. Her icy blue eyes looked brighter next to her frighteningly pale skin. She gave me a nod of permission.
Linda opened the nearest room. It was quite large with a king sized bed in the middle.
"Lay him down on the bed. And as for you," she paused and looked at the girl expecting a name. The girl spoke clearly instead of the whisper I was expecting.
"Ava."
"Are you in any need of medical attention?
"I'm fine, just a little cold. Please, just help him."
"Alright Ava I'm guessing he's your brother?"
She nodded.
"Good, I need you to take off any of his wet clothing. David, go start a fire and raise the thermostat. I'm going to fill the hot water bottles in the bathroom."
I crumpled up old newspaper and lit a match. Soon enough, the fireplace was creating heat. Quickly after, I put the thermostat up to 75 degrees.
"David! Go get some of your clothes! We need to dress him!"
"On it!"
After grabbing some warm clothes from my room, I sprinted back so we could change the guy as quick as we could.
"I'll be right back. The poor girl looks freezing. I'll go get her some tea."
Linda scurried out of the room, leaving me alone with Ava and her brother. I sat down on one of the chairs while she eyed me wearily. I looked up and our eyes met.
"Who are you?" I questioned.
I knew her name, but nothing else. I wanted to know more about these strangers.
"Well who are you?"
I sighed, not wanting to go through the childish bickering of trying to avoid answering a question first.
"David. What about your brother? Does he have a name?"
"Daniel. Well that's what we call him. My little-"
She was interrupted by what sounded like a choked sob. Her eyes were glazed over which indicated the tears that were too come. Surprisingly, they never came. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down.
