Giovanna’s POV
December 31st
“5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!” We all screamed in unison.
I hugged Josh and gave him a peck on the cheek. Linda gave me a warm squeeze and then moved on to Josh.
Then it was me and David.
We looked at each other hesitantly as the crowd cheered on the screen. I shyly walked over to where he was standing while he watched me. I don’t know what came over me. I really don’t. But, something compelled me to just do it. I didn’t know how’d he react. And frankly I didn’t care at that moment. I leaned in. And I kissed him.
But the thing is,
he didn’t kiss me back.
