A/N This chapter couldn't really be in David's POV so I think the next chapter will . Let's see what happens! Please vote/comment/fan/share

I woke up gasping for air. My chest was rising and falling erratically. But, I didn't understand why. It was weird. I felt like something horrible happened, but I didn't know what. I tried remembering, but nothing sparked my mind of what could have made me feel so off.

I started thinking about home, trying to calm myself down, but it only made matters worse. Thinking about home made me feel as though I had committed a crime. I looked up and realized I was still in David's arms. He was sleeping. I felt relief wash over me. I felt almost safe.

David stirred beside me and slowly woke up. His eyes scanned the room and finally landed on me.

"About time you woke up," I joked.

"Hey, you wanted me to sleep."

He grinned and stretched out his limbs. I yawned and did the same as he moved on to rubbing his eyes. David got up and opened the remaining closed blinds. I hissed at the sunlight pretending it was burning me. Did I mention I'm not a morning person?

"I'm burning! Ahhhh! Why must you be so cruel and open the blinds?"

I pulled the blankets over my head and enjoyed the darkness it brought.

"Merry Christmas to you too."

I got out of bed and smiled up at him.

"Merry Christmas."

"C'mon let's go open presents!"

"But, it's so early!" I whined.

"What, you've never woken up early on Christmas before?"

"Not in a while, no."

"Then I'll just go downstairs all by myself," he said it in such a childish manner, it was too adorable.

He started walking to the door when I said, "Alright, alright. Just give me a sec to change out of yesterday's clothes."

He flashed me a triumphant grin while I grumpily walked into the closet and scanned the walls for an outfit. My eyes fell upon the cutest onesie ever. It was grey and had a hoodie with cat ears on it. I immediately grabbed it and ran to the bathroom. I brushed out my hair, washed my face, and threw the onesie on. I admired my choice in the mirror and walked out to see David's impatient face.

"You take forever to get ready, you know that?"

"Well it's Christmas, I wanted to look presentable."

"In a cat onesie?"

"Yes, I happen to love this onesie."

"Oh really?"

"Just like you love your superhero pajamas."

"Hey, it's only Captain America and Spiderman, okay?"

"Whatever you say. You want to go downstairs now?"

"Yes!"

"Then c'mon already. I swear, you get off topic so easily."

When we walked in the living room, we saw presents under the tree along with stuffed stockings. By now, the sun had crept behind the clouds and it looked darker outside. There was a lot of snow on the ground, and I had a feeling that there would be more joining it. I was looking through my stocking when my stomach grumbled, and I realized how hungry I was.

"I'm going to go make some breakfast. You can stay here if you want."

"Nah, it's no fun on Christmas morning when no one's there."
