A/N Sorry this took longer than I expected. Had a bit of writers block plus school has been crazy. So enjoy the chapter! Read/Vote/Comment/Share!

He was screaming my name. Jesse's cries flipped my stomach every time they filled the air. As I sprinted through the woods, trying to find him, every shadow I passed took the shape of a gun. Although I was beyond terrified by just the scenery, I couldn't stop. Not until I found Jesse. I gasped in horror at the blood gushing from his stomach and dripping from his face. But no matter how hard I tried to talk or scream even, I couldn’t. I tried getting closer to him, but everything felt like it was put in slow motion. My mind felt like it was being tossed around like a ball, making me feel an odd dizziness.

Suddenly, David came running. His claws and fangs were out as he ran like a wolf toward Jesse. Jesse’s eyes widened while grabbing his stomach. He struggled to stand, but it was hopeless. I watch in horror as David lunged at him and ripped his flesh apart. I forced my voice through my throat letting out a strangled scream.

“No! Oh my God please! Stop hurting him!”

David turned his head to look at me. There was blood all over himself and Jess.

But before I could think of anything, Jesse's body went limp.

I fell to my knees with tears rushed down my face. The pain inside of me felt too real to feel like a dream. But, my sorrow melted out of my body and blinding rage filled it instead. I was furious. I’m not supposed to lose anyone else. Especially my best friend.

“Why?”

It came out as a hiss. David looked at me with confusion.

“Isn’t it obvious?”

My body shot up from the bed. I was covered in cold sweat, making everything cling to me. I was panting and my arm was throbbing. I looked around the room rapidly in search of some kind of hint of reality as I felt hot tears drip to my chin from the appalling nightmare. Every detail was fresh in my mind and it scared me to the point of my body shaking.

David burst into the room looking around frantically for any sign of harm. Too bad it was all in my mind. When he found nothing, his eyes finally landed on me. He tried grabbing my hands in an attempt to calm me, but that made me even more scared. I let out whimpering sounds due to a mixture of muffled screams and fear. I was in a trance, lost in my thoughts trying to decipher the last part of my dream. How is it obvious?

It was just a nightmare.

Reassuring myself of this didn’t help one bit. I flinched at every one of his attempts to soothe me. But sleepiness was claiming me when David finally got hold of one of my hands. As soon as he did though, I scrambled from the bed and fell right on my butt on the carpet below me.

“Oof!”

“Giovanna, are you okay?”

I couldn’t find my voice. My heart was still pumping erratically.

“Giovanna?”

He towered over me with a worried expression spread across his face. I almost felt bad for causing it. Almost.

He bent down on his knees, trying to catch my eyes with his.

“What happened?”

Don’t get too close.

He reached his hand over to wipe my tears away. I ducked my head, hiding them behind my legs. I had my legs clutched to my chest and one arm wrapped around them. My other arm had pain shooting up and down, finding it hard to move.
