I opened my eyes and fell an instant sickening feeling in my stomach, I wasn't in the spare bed room I was in Aaron's bed. "Fuck." I whispered.

"Calm down. You were sleep walking and came in here, nothing happened." He waltzed right in with a coffee and handed it to me. "You do awfully a lot of talking, does Carter know this?"

"What? I dunno, why didn't you just wake me up?" I grumbled.

"Never was a sleep walker up, how do you not know that rule!" He spat out, he came crash landing on the bed and laid next to me. "You were talking about Zak."

"Oh shit." I rolled my eyes as the burning coffee went down my throat.

"You like him." He softly spoke, I gasped and went to defend myself. "It's okay Roni, I'm not here to judge." He held his hands up wanting nothing to do with this conversation anymore.

"I need to go to work." I spat out. "Holy shit I'm tired, where are my clothes?" I suddenly felt my top and noticed it had a
big Star Wars print on it. "Aaron?"

"I changed you once you walked in, Roni I've seen you all before." He sat up going to retrieve my clothes.

"But it's different now!" I argued back.

"How? Because of Carter that fucking cheat!"

"How dare you!" I was stunned, I knew Carter and I had issues before and I confided in Aaron but I was astonished to think he'd use it against me.

"I'm sorry. I just think you should be treated like a queen, you're amazing and I wish he'd see that." He looked away and left the room, I know he was looking out for me but I was a big girl now.

I got downstairs and ate a little breakfast by myself as Aaron was outside ignoring me, I hated when we fought as it reminded me of how we broke. I rolled my eyes and went outside to apologise, he might've started the argument but I sure wasn't going to keep it going. I just got my best friend back I wasn't going to lose him again.

"Hey there big boy" I wrapped my arms around him.

"Hey there pretty lady" he moved around and brought his arms around me. "I'm sorry." He kissed my forehead.

"We need to stop fighting, we're like that old bitter couple that fights." I mumbled as I was squashed into his chest.

"I know. Are you still able to come back over tonight and stay here? I'm heading this afternoon."

"Yeah, I'm going to work for 3 hours today. Not much to do unless someone dies and they need me." I teased.

I had one more hug and headed to work. I headed to my station and got all my documentation out and ready to file, I had my bodies store in coolers and waiting for the morgue to arrive. Some days work is quite and the others were busy, I tossed around the table and got my cleaning products out and decided to clean again.

I was minding my own business when my phone rang.

'Carter!'

'Baby cakes hello! I miss you!'

'Me too! How are you? How is the packing going?'

'Uh not good, I won't be coming back to Vegas for a month. Job contract got extended and I'm needed.'

I could feel my heart sink.

'I've got a promotion on my hands so I'm working hard for it, it could lead to bigger money and maybe staying in Seattle.'

My heart hit rock bottom.

'Carter what about us?'

'You'll be with me! You'll come back, Vegas isn't good. There's more work here and your friends are here.'

'Aaron isn't is Seattle, neither are Jay, Bacon, Billy'

'Let me guess Zak too?'

'I-I uh I'm busy call me later.'

I hung up quickly, I was about to explode into tears. I loved Seattle but it wasn't Vegas, Aaron wasn't in Seattle. There was so much I still needed to do and see and I don't know if I'm willing to live by Carter's rules.

I was distressed so I left work and headed back to Aaron's, I won't tell him what's happening until I decided what I was going to do. Go where marriage and a family were guaranteed or stay in the unknown and have fun? I was 31 and maybe it was time to settle down.
