Wow. So the caller was Lilly’s Logan. She’s going to kill me when she finds out what I did.

The call went like this:

“Hum… Hello.” I said, feeling odd because I knew I wasn’t supposed to answer the phone.

“Hello, Lilly! You never called after that message I left last night. Is everything okay?” I heard a non-American accent speaking.

“Oh… Lilly’s not here at the moment.” I started to feel bad. That had to be Logan. I guess.

“Who are you, if you’re not Lilly? And why are you answering her phone calls?” He sounded upset.

“Well… I’m Mia. Lilly’s sister-in-law. I’m sorry. I was waiting for her or Michael to come, and the phone kept on ringing, so I thought it might be urgent.” I held my breath. “And who are you?”

“Mia? Wait. Are you Princess Amelia, Michael’s wife?” He sounded astonished.

“Er… Yeah, that’s me.”

“I’m terribly sorry, Your Highness.” His voice was filled with regret. “Lilly told me about you. But I thought you lived in Genovia, as you’re the reigning Princess.”

“Yes, I do live in Genovia. Why do you say that? Are you Logan?” I didn’t understand what was happening.

“Yes, I am. My name is Logan Callaghan, Your Highness. How do you know my name?”

“Lilly’s my best friend. We tell each other everything. Including stuff about boys. But why did you ask if I was in Genovia?”

“Because Lilly didn’t tell me she was there. I thought she was continuing her trip. And that she’d return to the States to spend Christmas with her family.”

“She’s Jewish. She doesn’t celebrate Christmas, you know?”

“Oh, yeah. I forgot.”

“But, as we have to celebrate it as the Royal family, she’s joining us. Just to help around here with the babies. And to spend some time with us, of course.”

“Right. I’m sorry for disturbing you, Your Highness. Could you tell Lilly I’ve called? And ask her please if she can call back?”

“Oh, you’re not disturbing at all. I was doing nothing around here.” This is, officially, the most awkward conversation I’ve ever had. “Is she giving you a hard time?”

“Who are you talking about, ma’am?”

“You can call me Mia, you know? I mean, you’re not a Genovian citizen. And I was talking about Lil. She is afraid of commitment, you see? It’s like she’s afraid of guys.”

“Oh, I didn’t notice.”

Poor guy. I know Lil. She is… No boy in the world will change that.

Or maybe someone could… It’s worth the try. Although Lilly will murder me in the most cruel and painful way ever known. Well, I have the RGG and Michael to protect me, so here I go…

“You know, Logan? You should come over this Christmas holiday.”

“Are you sure? I mean, it’s time to get together with one’s family. I don’t want to disturb.”

“Of course! My grandmother Clarisse throws a huge Christmas party with plenty of people I don’t know every year, so you’re more than welcome. It’ll be fun.”

“Hm, yes, I guess it will. So… when is the best day to go?”

“Well, I don’t really know how things will go around here, but I guess that if you come the 23rd, it’ll be the best.”

“Okay… Do you tell Lilly?”

Only listening to him I have the feeling this guy fears Lil a little.

“OK. So it’s all set! I’m looking forward to meeting you!”

“Hm. Okay, then. Bye.”

“Goodbye, Logan.” We hung up.

The poor guy doesn’t even know what’s just happened to him. He’ll be sitting down next to the phone trying to figure out, I can tell.

Well, so now I have to figure out things myself, like how I’m going to tell Lilly about this. Mainly, and if possible, how to do it (and succeed doing it) without any murder involved.

Oh, oh. I hear somebody’s coming. Playing cool, like if nothing happened.
