Lunch went well. Still, my parents and my in-laws are so annoying!

I know they’re excited to have grandchildren, but please! Why won’t they stop asking things?

First, the Drs. Moscovitz started asking if we knew the gender of the twins. We politely pointed out that we didn’t, and we continued eating.

But from that moment, everything went wrong. Mom and Dad started asking the names, and the Drs. Moscovitz must have thought this was such an interesting subject that they should join, so they did so.

Then, they asked about the godparents. And about schools, and whether we’re buying an apartment in New York to spend the holidays. They even asked about college.

Please… We really love our parents, but this is just stupid. They aren’t even born yet. And still, all of these things should be agreements between Michael and me only. They’re not subjects to be discussed during a family lunch.

Michael must have seen how upsetting I found all of it, so he made clear we weren’t answering any of these questions to them.

“Could we talk about something else, please? Mia and I have everything under control, but we won’t be sharing any of these things you necessarily want to know before we decide to do it.”

It’s amazing how he can handle any situation. That’s why I love him so much.

And with that, the conversation went on about trivial things, such as New York this Christmas (I’m so sorry Olivia has never lived that. She definitely should go next year). Mom explained the Drs. Moscovitz that she has her own room in the Palace to paint and draw and everything she likes to do. She is also teaching Olivia some of her techniques.

It all ended pretty well, though. The Drs. Moscovitz are going to the Summer Palace to visit it and I guess to have a drink. I’m so glad they all get along so well.

Now I’m actually hiding from Michael, because he’s insisting on getting the nursery ready, and to put the blankets in the cribs and all. I’m too tired to do any of these.

I know I have to do it, but I really don’t feel like preparing anything right now.

Uh-oh, he’s coming.
