Even though Michael and I aren't "ruling" at the moment, we have to prerecord the Christmas speech that they'll send out in six days. I was supposed to have some days to practice it, but considering what's been going out lately, we didn't really have a chance.

I was also supposed to write it myself, but that couldn't happen either. So I'm just going to memorize the speech one of my personal assistants, Nathan Jones, wrote for me. It's actually quite funny. I'm the writer. I studied creative writing at Sarah Lawrence. He's an engineer who never got a job in any company, so he's working here. But yet, it's pretty good. I asked him if it mattered if I made some personal changes, still.

Okay, so this is really going to be a family video this year.

Grandmère is giving her usual speech, but a bit shorter this year. Then Dad's going to talk, with Mom at his side, who I've heard is going to say a few words, as she's the temporary reigning consort. Then Olivia will make her first official speech to the people as their Princess (now she's Crown Princess. At least until birth. Then she'll be third in line). And, to conclude, Michael and I will be speaking. I will do most of the talking, and Michael a bit less.

I like the dress, though. It doesn't make me look like a fat cow. It makes me look cute, actually. It's soft pink, with a tulle skirt. I wasn't really fond of it when I saw it for the first time, but I have to say Sebastiano (who else would be dressing me?) made an incredible job.

And Michael looks stunning. He's just wearing a suit, like he's done thousands of times the last eight years. Still, and it's a mystery how he does it, he manages to make me fall even more in love with him every time he dresses up. Well, not only with a suit. When he wears sports shorts and a T-shirt, the only sight of him makes my heart skip a beat.

My God. If Lilly or Grandmère would only hear my thoughts, they would kick all the romance out of me.

Where was I?

Oh, yes. The Christmas speech.

In the end, we all raise our glasses and wish the people a Merry Christmas.

Oh, it's almost our turn.
