God, that almost went wrong!

I arrived to the cruise ship where the refugees are staying and they all welcomed me so warmly (I can’t believe people are saying they are bad for our society!) and I gave a little speech to wish them a happy holiday:

“Good morning to all of you. I wanted to talk to you personally to wish you a Merry Christmas.”

I stopped a moment after this, to look at all of them in the eye. Well, a few of them.

“I know you are all far from home. Yet, I wanted to tell you that this is your home. You are welcome here, you can rebuild your life here. Genovian society will receive you with open arms, you can be sure of that.

I truly believe that we all can achieve happiness if we give and receive love, if we respect each other and, most importantly, if we help each other. Let this New Year be the beginning of a new life, a new start to get where you all want to. If you ask for help, there’ll be someone to help you, I promise.

What I want to say, let us start this year with respect, and let’s show the world we can live in peace!

They all clapped with joy. I took Michael’s hand to get back down to talk to some more people, when suddenly a contraction hit me. I was so surprised I stopped and squeezed his hand strongly. He immediately looked at my face, and he understood what was happening. He walked slowly, bringing me towards the limo to go back, but as sudden as it started, it ended, so I told him to stay and say goodbye at least.

We went really quickly, just to make sure I didn’t have a contraction again during the visit, but I haven’t had any for the past hour, so it must have been false alarm again.

I’m really so tired of this.
