I don't want to leave my bed! It's the very first night in a week that I've slept for eight hours. Michael just woke me at 7 a.m. to kiss me goodbye and to give me a romantic speech like he always does:
"Baby, I'm leaving. I love you. I'll call you when I get to JFK, okay?" I was trying to open my eyes, but he tried to stop me. "No, don't wake. Sleep a little more. You had a very good night. I just hope it stays like this. If you need anything, just send me an email, I'll have it connected." Then, he went to my belly and spoke to the babies. "Hey, you guys. Take care of Mommy, okay? Don't give her a hard time. Daddy will be back tomorrow. Wait for a little in there, huh? I love the both of you."
He came back next to my face and, when I felt his breath on my lips, I opened my eyes and saw the prettiest sight I could have wished for. He hadn't shaved yet (who would at seven a.m.?) and he had that loving gaze in his eyes that makes him even more handsome than he already is.
"I love you, too, sweetheart. Don't worry about a thing. Everything will be just fine."
And our lips touched, first in a delicate way; slowly it became more and more passionate. There was some under-the-shirt action, until we heard a knock on the door that stopped us.
It was Gérard, the head butler, who told Michael that the limo was ready to take him to the airport.
We both giggled in a stupid and girly way and kissed. This time we made sure that it didn't get too heated.
And then I immediately fell asleep again. Until now. Still, I think I'm going to pretend I'm still sleeping. It's not like I have many things to do now better than staying in bed.
But there's one thing that I don't fully believe: Grandmère didn't enter my room yet to wake me up, though I was supposed to be downstairs two hours ago for breakfast.
I can't believe Dad finally got Grandmère to understand something related to human behavior. And mostly, that he got her to leave me alone, for a change. I'll have to thank him for that!
