Imagine developing a really bad (and painful) sunburn and your skin starts peeling and the dwarves start to panic, thinking that something horrible has happened to you, or you've been cursed or something and when Oin tries touching it you yell at him, telling him to stop and you have to explain that it's just dead skin from where the cells are killing themselves to stop them from becoming cancerous.
